Broken Dolls by James Carol

Post by EmmaMaisyKaiser »

This book was a real page turner!! This is the first book that James Carol has written. Jefferson Winter is the main character, he's a freelance investigator who police forces call in to investigate difficult crimes that have taken place. Jefferson is extremely intelligent but has a murky background in the respect of his father was a convicted serial killer who has been executed, he spends most of his life trying to prove to himself that he is not like his father. The case he takes for this book is based in London (Jefferson is American). There is a murderer loose who is abducting ladies, keeping them hidden away and then lobotomises them. Working alongside DI Mark Hatcher and together it is a race against time to save the latest woman to have been abducte and prevent any more being taken. It's very well written and keeps you wanting to read more!

Is this a realistic book or more of a mystery sci fi? can you say how long it is? I love crime seen books but i've read so many they are all kinda seeming similar, i'm ready for something new where you can't predict the ending after 3 chapters, do you think this could pass the test?

Sounds like it could be one you would like, some of them are very same-ish aren't they but this one seemed different to others I have read, it's 382 pages and there's a second book by him too called Watch Me, that's worth a read too!! I don't like syfy so if it was like that I wouldn't have enjoyed it as much as I did!! :) Another author you might like is Chris Carter, he's very good!! I picked the 2 James Carol books up for a couple of quid each at sainsburys I think it was! :)
