I'm a little baffled about some of the negative reviews I've seen about this book and series. I watched the movies first, then bought the entire series and read them all. Of course, the books are much better, as is generally the case. I thought the movies were good, but the books are outstanding. Stephenie Meyer is an excellent writer ... high drama, a bit of humor, and excellent characters all add up to a good read that held my attention from beginning to end. I was rather sorry when I got to the end because these are the types of stories that could continue for a long time. I recommend these books to anyone who likes quality character-driven plots combined with fantasy. Excellent.
