A Dedicated Man by Peter Robinson

Post by ktrum »

I just finished reading "A Dedicated Man" by Peter Robinson. It's the second book in his Chief Inspector Alan Banks books; I couldn't get the first book quick enough so I decided to read this book which I had on loan from my local library. The book was very interesting and I enjoyed the author's description of the Swainsdale area of England. His descriptions made you feel as if you were actually in the locality. I also felt that I didn't necessarily need to read the first book to get a handle on the main characters of this book. All through the book, the author has you guessing as to whom the killer was but you really didn't get to find this out until the end of the book. I read the book quickly because it had a nice flow; however, it had two flaws, in my opinion. Number one: the Chief Inspector kept asking the same suspects the same questions; number two: the book lagged at times and I just wanted to find out who the guilty party was. I would give this book a 4 out of 5 stars and would probably try to read more of this series of books; I believe he's written 20 or 21!
