Unofficial Review: The Girl Who Was Supposed to Die

Post by steampunk_girl »

April Henry's "The Girl Who Was Supposed to Die" is a thriller that keeps you on your feet. When she wakes up she has know idea who she is, where she is or anything to do with the matter. All she knows is that her life is being debated about right at that very second. So she runs. Takes their car, fleeing looking for the cops. But are they safe? Who can she trust? Why are her finger nails ripped off, fingers bandaged? Who is she and where is her family? Entrusting McDonald employee Ty, she seeks answers but is she really ready for the truth? The only thing she knows to do right now is run.

The story is rather good, action filled and seemed to be a change from the boring YA books that are oh-so popular.

I would give this story a 2 out of 4 because of the abbrut ending. The book itself seemed to be missing at least twenty pages. The book was also printed in rather crappy quality pages.

But the thing that overcame these things bumping it back up to a three was the diversity and realism. I mean there aren't very many popular kidnapping books and while I guess you could say it was more realistic than most books but getting kidnapped because of an unnamed reason, having your fingernails not on your fingers and meeting a friendly McDonald's employee that is your age and would go on a road trip with you... Well we all have our flaws, the book itself was written good and was somewhat detailed.
