Book Review: Veronica Mars - The Thousand Dollar Tan Line

Post by sreneemills »

I just finished The Thousand Dollar Tan Line by Rob Thomas and Jennifer Graham. I had never watched the show Veronica Mars while it was on TV but decided to watch the movie which came out last year and was on HBO during a free preview weekend. I thought the movie was pretty good so I decided to go back and watch the TV series. I got a little hooked on it! So you can imagine my surprise and excitement to hear that the Veronica Mars story would continue through books. The book was good. It picked up right where the movie left off. I felt like there wasn't enough emphasis on the Logan/Veronica storyline but since he was shipped back off to the Navy at the end of the movie - he couldn't realistically be that involved. I love the main characters. Keith Mars, Veronica's father is one of my favorites and I missed him throughout this book as well. In fact, other than Veronica, I feel like most of the characters were largely missing. Not much Logan, Keith, Wallace, Weavel and absolutely no mention of Piz. I will continue to read this series but I really hope the next book incorporates more of the characters we all fell in love with from the show.

Final Verdict: 3 stars (***)

I heard from the series on TV from Veronica Mars.
Never seen it, though, but I am going to search a local copy ;)

Thanks for the great review.
