I appreciate the depth and clarity of your review of "A Brush with Death" by Jody Summers. The concept of mixing ashes with paint to create a 'Canvas of Life' is both haunting and intriguing, providing a unique twist on the usual thriller genre. Your mention of the vivid descriptions and the almost cinematic experience they offer is particularly appealing to me as a reader who enjoys being fully immersed in a story's atmosphere.

I understand your point about the relationship between Kira and Sean feeling rushed. In thrillers, character development can sometimes take a backseat to plot progression, but it's good to know that the mystery element compensates for this shortcoming. Your comparison to Stephen King and Jeffery Deaver, along with the warning about terrifying scenes, sets clear expectations for the potential reader.

Thank you for highlighting both the strengths and minor flaws of the book, such as the punctuation errors and the scattered profanity. Your balanced and detailed review has certainly piqued my interest in this chilling thriller.

This book is an engrossing and haunting thriller with a clear setup for future adventures. The novel is well structured and makes liberal use of foreshadowing to keep the reader hooked. The plot is original and moves at a reasonably brisk pace with a satisfying ending.
- Its already smeared my curiousity and the review alone has got me hooked. Thank you.

Great review! Although I am not into horror stories, I do oil painting as a hobby, and this book has piqued my interest. I will put this on my "to read" list.

Many people honor the dead in different ways. When the MC decided to do that, she thought nothing was out of the ordinary, until it was. She decided to continue doing it, and now she is so deep that she cannot get out. Congratulations on the BOTD, and best wishes for future projects.

I enjoyed reading your review! Sampling, I felt immersed from the first page, and Kira's Canvas of Life painting business mixing paints with cremains felt spine-chilling. Like you, I enjoyed the story's pace and suspense. I agree that it feels like a great horror mystery read!

I like the concept of the plotline in that the protagonist experiences feelings from the ashes of the deceased from which she is painting. I'm not sure about the thriller elements of the plotline but am intrigued to find out.

I love the very innovative plot where the painter mixes a dead person's ashes with paint to produce paintings that alleviate the pain of the people that have lost their loved ones, but guess what? All of this comes at a price.
