'Official Review: Hill of Souls' Richard Davids by is a good thesis on the ghost story for readers. It well highlights the intricacies of the crime thriller story for curious readers. The point that each member of a family in the story realizes that there's a historical jigsaw puzzle in their hands, and they dive into it together is worth mentioning in the review. Also, the point that the story contains a series of mystifying events that the protagonists have to deal with including strange memories, dreams, visions, and close encounters with the dead, as mentioned in the review, is remarkable for readers. It was great to learn that the book is a good mystery story containing coming-of-age elements!

Great review! This sounds like a book I could read in one setting. The mystery the family gets to figure out sounds like great plot. It will be a breath of fresh air to read a book where the family is function-able.

I'll be reading this book. I enjoy books that can bring in mystery elements at a family level. When I was young (ages! ago) there was a series of books called The Happy Hollisters. They were mysteries that involved the entire family and I read them for years. This sounds like a great book for young mystery lovers to sink their teeth into. Thank you for a great review!

Reading just the first two paragraphs of this review already creates an impression that it will be a scary story. And this is definitely not my type of book. Nice review.

A healthy functioning family is a rare treat in this novel. A jigsaw puzzle mystery box that unleashes more events make this an interesting plot. Nice review.

I’m looking forward to digging into this novel to find out how the puzzle is solved by John, Helen, and their children, Jen and Davie. Is Oweyn Skinner linked to the family? Will a crime which happened in the past come into light through the help of John’s family? Suspenseful novels are fun to read and this one seemed to be right up my alley.

Oooh, I love the concept of the story. The souls get stuck in limbo, between life and death. I would like to see how that wooden box leads to the family getting justice for Oweyn. Congratulations on BOTD!

This book carries along with it a mysterious element through and through. The careful unraveling of characters and their beautiful narration is testament to the excellence of the plot. I love Oweyn's character. Joseph's attempt and failure to save him was an emotional part. I really wished he lived to make his mother smile.

This sounds like a very interesting read. I like how the author wove together several different dynamics into one cohesive story.
Mad Hatter: "Have I gone mad?"
Alice: "I'm afraid so. You're entirely bonkers. But I'll tell you a secret. All the best people are.”
