I would likely struggle to read this, mainly due to the horror of child abuse/murder especially as I have young kids myself. I do love a good thriller but wonder how graphic this is?
Thanks for a detailed review, which still leaves a lot unanswered, for obvious reasons! It sounds like a lot goes on in the story.

Hmmm! It is so sad how one unfortunate action can destroy all that one has. The book does have a nice plot, congratulations on botd!

An interesting crime thriller surrounding an incident that happened twenty six years ago. My interest is piqued by these themes. Congrats on Botd!

The story is about a lady named Gilly who, as a child, made the terrible mistake of burying a dead baby with her friend. Her actions led to more bad things happening, and even twenty-six years later, she still regrets it.

I don't know why I am always drawn to horrific stories but, I am guessing it's excessive reading of the Rizzoli's series. Either way I am definitely drawn to this book and would most definitely try it out. Congrats BOTD.

I am usually a fan of thrillers, but this one , though seemingly well written, contains material I am not at all thrilled or interested in learning about when it comes to the horrors of dead children. Great review, but definitely not for my taste.

This sounds like a combination of thriller, crime, and mystery.
I wonder why those kids were murdered and what action Gilly took that affected her entire life.
Congrats on the BOTD.

As someone that enjoys reading thrillers, I find it hard to understand what happened in this book. Regardless, I believe it's an interesting book to read if not it won't win BOTD, so there Congratulations!

I read the sample on Amazon. two chapters, I think. the writing style was a little clunky. Please don't ask me what I mean by clunky writing style, I can't say for sure. it rattled. the affection and the hatred between the characters were rough-edged. Anyway, I see you liked it, reviewer, gave it a 4/4. Glad you enjoyed it. You showed there was a lot of plot for a short book.

Not going to lie, after reading the sample, I'm more caught up in seeing Gilly kick Toshi to the curb than in seeing the mystery unfold, for the moment. Although I'm happy you said they do get divorced. Your review made the book sound all the more interesting, especially as more than one mystery is going to be brought up. It should be an intriguing plot as the characters unravel. Thank you for a great review!

I couldn't stop reading from the first word. I actually ended up reading most of the first chapter. Very captivating!! Two women hold a secret from their childhood. When the one woman's mom dies she has to go home to face what they did as children.

This book follows Gilly as she comes to terms with the mistake she and her friend made during childhood. I couldn't fathom why they would hide a dead baby, but I am sure it is all revealed in this chilling mystery. Thanks for the detailed review.

I wondered what caused her and Sally to keep a dead baby found in the forest. Usually, something like that would be scary to children. It sounds like a thrilling book. Thanks for the review.
