I can only imagine how a murder would affect the area around Laredo, especially after Juan warned Chris about how the town looks after the Guerra family. I find it curious how you mentioned that the layout of the story starts from the middle of the mystery. It makes me wonder what part of the story I sampled. Thank you for a great review!

"Tree of Redemption" by Jim Davidson is a murder story that occurs in Laredo and Brownsville, Texas. The main character is Chris Hamilton and he returns to Laredo from Virginia to pay his respects to an old friend and mentor Armando. While Chris is a peace loving guy and not one to take revenge for a murder, he is determined to find the killer of his dear friend. This book focuses on the building of strong and reliable relationships with people and these relationships will yield benefits in the future. Will Chris find the killer? Members need to read the entire book to find out. A well written and edited book that should be on every member's To-Read Shelf. Very good review.

I am greatly informed reading your review of this book. Apart from the amazing efforts put into making this novel a fantastic read, I am most impressed by the moral lessons explored here, one of which is the need to build and sustain relationships with people. This is something that can save us on "rainy days" as well as quicken our adventures and engagements in life, as can be seen in the character Chris.

"Tree of Redemption" is a poignant and heartfelt memoir written by Jim Davidson, an American climber and adventurer who has faced significant personal challenges throughout his life. In this book, Davidson shares his journey of redemption, which begins with a tragic accident on Mount Rainier and culminates with him finding hope and purpose through the act of planting a tree.

The book is divided into three parts, each representing a stage in Davidson's life. In the first part, Davidson recounts the events leading up to his life-altering accident on Mount Rainier, where he lost his close friend and climbing partner. He writes vividly about the trauma of the experience, as well as his subsequent struggle with survivor's guilt and post-traumatic stress disorder.

The second part of the book details Davidson's journey of recovery, which took him from the depths of despair to a renewed sense of purpose. This section is particularly moving, as Davidson candidly shares his struggles with addiction and the impact it had on his life and relationships. He also writes about the pivotal role that therapy and the support of loved ones played in his recovery.

The final part of the book centers around Davidson's efforts to plant a tree in honor of his friend who died on Mount Rainier. Through this act of remembrance, Davidson finds a sense of closure and a renewed connection to nature. This section of the book is filled with beautiful descriptions of the natural world and serves as a powerful reminder of the healing power of nature.

Overall, "Tree of Redemption" is a deeply personal and moving memoir that offers a powerful message of hope and resilience. Davidson's writing is honest and unflinching, and his story is sure to resonate with readers who have faced their own struggles with trauma and addiction.

One of the strengths of the book is Davidson's willingness to be vulnerable and share his most intimate struggles with the reader. This openness makes his journey all the more compelling and relatable. Additionally, his descriptions of the natural world are evocative and beautifully rendered, making the book a joy to read from a purely aesthetic standpoint.

While "Tree of Redemption" is primarily a memoir about Davidson's personal journey, it also touches on broader themes of grief, healing, and the human connection to nature. As such, it has the potential to resonate with a wide range of readers, regardless of their personal experiences.

In conclusion, I highly recommend "Tree of Redemption" to anyone looking for a moving and inspiring memoir about the power of redemption and the healing power of nature. Davidson's story is one that will stay with readers long after they've finished the book, and his message of hope and resilience is one that is sorely needed in today's world.

This book is a well structured murder mystery. The characters seems like well developed and likable. The placement of mystery is sure to keep the readers engaged. The lsimple and easy language along with the Mexican dialect will make me enjoy the book for sure.

The cover and title misled me into thinking this was a religious book. It's actually a murder mystery. I also value relationships, so I can relate to Chris's sentiments of wanting to discover Armando's killer. I am an armchair sleuth myself, so I am eager to accompany Chris in his quest. Vamos, Chris!

I love reading mystery books because I can almost always identify the killer before the story ends so I’m sure I’ll get the culprit before the main characters do! I’m looking forward to digging into this one to be with the journey of Chris and Michael as they uncover the truth and expose the killer who was described in the review as despicable and erratic being who no one can overpower. The killer seemed unholy and had extra ordinary dark powers to be described as such, unless they are actually in politics where many politicians are inhumane and glutton when power and corruption are involved.

I've recently been more into murder mysteries and thrillers. I love the points you make about how you enjoyed everything about the book, and your personal take aways from the book. I agree that relationships we make with people have great importance. I also really like the use of Mexican dialects throughout the book to make it authentic. Thanks for a great review!

Wow. Judging by the book's cover, I didn't see that coming. Maintaining valuable relationship as the central message of murder mystery story sounds like worth reading. I like the premise of this novel. Nice review!

From a sampling, this seems like an interesting crime/mystery novel following Chris, a man, who has returned “home” to attend the funeral of his longtime friend and mentor who was murdered. Will Chris seek vengeance on the murderer? It might be worth a second look. Well done.
