From a sampling, this seems like an interesting mystery story following two lovers who face the anger of other scorned lovers. In order to avoid one such individual, Maribelle jumps into a lake. Dan, her lover, in an effort to find her jumps into the lake, but will he find her or will the lake claim her? It might be worth a second look. Well done.

Stephan invited Maribelle to a Mystic Lake party, sparking excitement as Maribelle discovered his feelings were mutual. Their attendance at the event led to complications, involving Clarissa's disapproval and a confrontation with Dan Marquette. The incident prompted Maribelle to dive into the lake, with Stephan following suit in search of her. "The Curse of the Mystic Lakes" by Riano D. McFarland includes broader themes of magic, sorcery, mystical beings, and warlocks. The recommendation extends to readers who enjoy a mix of love, romance, magic, and mystical elements, with a caution about mature content for sensitive readers.

The book reads quite a pace despite the detailed descriptions from the author. I like how the author portrays the characters to give you an understanding of why they act the way they do.

The mysterious aspects of this story with intriguing characters seem captivating, and the theme of love between Stephan and Maribelle runs deep in this story.

I finished the first chapter, and your review has inspired me to keep going. I thought the end of chapter 1 was also the end of Stephan and Mari, but you suggest that it isn't the case and I'm intrigued to find out what happens. Thanks. I'm going to love to hate Clarissa, but a book like this needs a villain and she's perfect.

Wow! The book is classified as Thrillers and yes, the review showed it. But with the initial plot presented in the review, I thought it could pass as a love story: diving into a mystical lake to save your loved one; and the conflict started with jealousy and perhaps a love triangle. But wait, there is more: the mystical lake is a mystical lake. There is magic, sorcery, mystical beings and warlocks. Despite the soft and wholesome impression the story initially gives me, the review made it clear that it is for hard readers. There is sexual content and profanity (Excuse my personal classification of soft and hard readers). Additionally, just like most good complex stories, did I get it right that there is a small or perhaps significant side story or developing story of a third admirable main character with magical powers?

As the review mentioned, in the beginning the book may feel shallow, discussing only teenage drama but as one goes further, it is clearly visible that there are schemes set and complex characters. Looking forward to reading it.

I love the way you started your review and formed suspense for the people you recommend the book to. I really like a dark magical romance, but you said the book is more than that. So, I think this is on my reading list now. I would really love good fiction right now. Thank you for the honest review.

"The Curse of the Mystic Lakes" by Riano D. McFarland is a captivating tale of love and magic. It follows the romance between Maribelle Rowe and Stephan Marquette, which takes a dramatic turn at a lake party. The book is filled with magic, sorcery, and mystical beings, and each chapter connects seamlessly. The standout character is Ingrid Rowe, who uses her magic for good. Despite a few errors, the book is a thrilling read, earning a 5-star rating. However, its explicit content may not be for everyone. Perfect for fans of romance and magic.

At first glance it is a book whose cover inspires fear. According to the reviews I find that it is a book that addresses topics that I like such as magic and sorcery that can be entertaining. The theme of a particular love convinces me and besides that I now understand that this book is of the suspense genre, so I would love to read it.

On the one hand, the description of the novel's premise in this review made me curious about the book and incentivized me to download and read it, so that makes the review successful in my opinion.

On the other hand, the review focuses only on the story, and not on the storytelling. There is no discussion of the author's writing style, use of plot devices, mastery of dialogue, or ability to describe a realistic character. Instead, the reviewer focused solely on what she liked and disliked about the characters. This makes it hard to decide if the novel is worth the read.

I am especially confused by the reviewer's stated dislike of a character who is described as "possessive and dominant," without any indication of how they fit into the novel. Are they meant to be seen as sympathetic? In that case, the reviewer is telling the reader that the novel may not be well-written. If the character is supposed to be unlikeable, then the reviewer is saying that the author's depiction of this character is quite successful.

I guess I will know once I read the book.
