I am a mystery buff, so I am giving Pam a chance to enthrall me. Who are these dead people and how do they figure in the story?

This looks like a good read. I wonder what the story behind the skeleton is? Also, what a tangle of events and human emotion playing out in this compelling, intelligent and easy-to-read novel.

I wonder how all these events will connect Luke, Alice and Ruby. It's sad that Ruby has to give up on her dreams for her kids. I'm not overly intrigued by this book's plot, so I'll probably skip it.

The book delves into the significant extremes of life: money, love, and death. It also explores a mother's love. I appreciate the author's descriptive writing style and the compelling storyline. The section on death and the living's longing for their deceased loved ones deeply resonated with me, especially since I've lost close relatives and often cherish their memories. The way the author captures the profound impact of such loss is touching and relatable. The review highlights many intriguing aspects to look forward to in the book, making it a worthwhile read that promises to be both poignant and thought-provoking. The depth of emotions explored and the universal themes make it a book that will stay with you long after you've turned the last page. Thank you for the review and congratulations to the author and being selected as book of the day, BOTD.

Pam Keevil's "Mayflies" is a heartwarming tale of love, friendship, and life. The tale centres on a group of friends who reunite after a long time apart. They exchange regrets and dreams while thinking back on their history. The characters feel like real people with a genuine bond. Keevil's writing is real and encapsulates the spirit of long-lasting partnerships. Reminiscent and thought-provoking, the novel prompts readers to consider their own connections and decisions in life. All things considered, "Mayflies" is a lovely and moving book that honours the strength of genuine friendship.

Pain experienced by a person at the time of death is less when it is compared to the mental and physical pain experienced by people who loves that person. The concept of combination of money, love and death with the base of mother's love makes the reader to pick "Mayflies" for reading. Can't wait to read this novel. Congratulations on the BOTD!

The opening scene sounds like something out of "Midsomer Murders" and I really liked this show until the main character was replaced. Little tragedies and personal struggles will allow readers to understand more fully the motivations and feelings of characters and make the story captivating. Thanks and congrats!

Mayflies by Pam Keevil captivates with its rich emotional tapestry and intertwined relationships. The discovery of skeletons by Alice Tanner sets off a chain of events involving landowner Luke Carlyle and Ruby Allen, who has just lost her grandmother. Their lives intersect at Ruby's grandmother’s funeral, sparking a relationship that unfolds amid themes of love, death, and the pursuit of power. The novel excels in depicting the impact of loss, the strength of maternal love, and the complexities of human connections. Keevil’s vivid descriptions and deep character insights make this a compelling and immersive read.

Your review has me excited to read the book. I'm glad that it's not only a romance novel, as I'm not really fond of those. The mix of suspense and mystery with the romance sounds perfect. I'm curious to see how this whole story unfolds as it seems the author put a lot of effort in writing this book. I hope we find out who's remains where found and the reason behind this death. Thanks for a wonderful review. Congrats on BOTD
