This sounds like a very interesting post-Cold War story exploring the sci-fi aspects of the Russian Csar era. It sounds like there are a lot of scientific details that can put off some readers but I would be interested in giving this one a go.

I love stories on journalists especially investigative ones. The way they decide to traverse life's lines is unique. Rasputin's Nephew by Marc Seifer is certainly worth reading.

When an author is invested in a topic, it shows in the story they present. I believe this explains the scientific terms used throughout this book. When terms are properly integrated into the story, it helps you understand the characters' research and appreciate their work. I look forward to finding out if Rudy was able to get to the root of all the mysterious deaths. Rudy, a veteran New York journalists is researching the topic of psychokinesis. Simultaneously, first edition books tackling this very topic are getting destroyed. Rudy is torn between his now dangerous job and his girlfriend. Although, interesting, the book is loaded with technical jargon which will repell some readers.
