Pickles is an interesting character. Children would enjoy reading The Adventures of Sweet Pickles McGillicuddy. Great review by the way.

Thank you for the great review. I do enjoy children's books and was glad there are still great, but innocent, ones still being written. Her last name reminded me of Lucy from I Love Lucy because that was her maiden name. As I also like animals and helping friends out, this sounds like an excellent book for middle school kids especially.

I love to read mystery or any adventurous books. I also enjoy stories about friends and their pets. It is a lovely book with many inspiring lessons for anyone. Pickle's character is unique and exciting. I'm sure children this age also have the same curiosity and interest in becoming a detective. And many adult readers would find themself nostalgic about their childhood after reading this book. Thank you for a nice review.

A Novel that reminds me of my earlier days of reading. This review thoroughly captures the characters and plot of the story. A teen novel, this book is written in simple language in an effort to make the journey easy to understand. It will describe a teenager's quest to find out the whereabouts of a missing necklace. Accompanied by her dogs she will take you on a whirlwind adventure that young readers will be sure to love. Congratulations to the author and the BOTD on a great selection.

It's so refreshing to have a cozy mystery that doesn't revolve around murder. I agree that the title and cover are not up to par. The title really should be shorter, and the background of the cover could use some color. Thanks for the great review.

A story of a small-town sleuth and her first case in the Adventures of Sweet Pckles McGillicudy. When an earring goes missing Jennifer has a case and she will clear the name of one of her friends accused of taking it. Pickles launches her investigation. The book includes many colorful-name characters including Deardra, her best friend and of course her trusty hounds Buster and Rosie. Interesting plot and a good review.

The book is based on the mystery of a stolen jewel. The book can be very inspiring for kids and teach them to be adventurous. Book will also motivate kids to follow the steps of the great fictional character Sherlock holmes.

Thank you for the great review. I appreciate that the author created what sounds like a great mystery to be solved with a young girl, Pickles and her dog. It sounds like an exciting a la Sherlock Holmes book. I also agree that the title seems a bit long. This seems like a great book to read!

Following the footsteps of Sherlock Holmes, as a detective and the protagonist of this intriguing story! I would love to read about her detective style and how she follows her inspiration and solves the puzzle of missing earrings.

I started reading this today. The amount of detail is a little to much for me I’m a short span so I had to put it down. I will be picking it back up tomorrow.

A sweet adventure book whose main character is a young vibrant thirteen year old nicknamed “Pickles”! Pickles, who’s real name is Jennifer, is intrigued- almost driven by mysteries and secrecies. Hee parents are introduced within the story but seem not to play major roles- indicating that she has sort of a life on her own, girl power. Setting forth ideas of independence and self adventure.
This book, to me, seems to be geared more towards feminine tweens/young adults as the main “hero” is female. The words aren’t confusingly big or easily misconstrued. It’s a simple read that seems for me, to flow easily along keeping the reader interested and invested to complete the story.
