“Charlie’s Diner” by Dennis F Killeen is a story about a successful businessman but a sad man due to the loss of his daughter to an accident and his wife left him a few years later and it left Charlie on his own. Poor Charlie sees a family come to his diner and decides to give them $1,000 to help with their bills. Paul, the husband, uses the money to purchase a bike instead of paying the bills. The wife, Ann, comes back to Charlie and asks for more help which he gives her for sexual gratifications. Paul caught them in the act and he killed Charlie and attempted to kill Ann but she stabbed him. Ann packed up her children and left town and moved to Nebraska. Will the FBI go after her for this act of self-defense or will her new life raising her children by herself in Nebraska continue? This book is well written and has very interesting characters and a great plot. I will add it to my to-read shelf.

Readers interested in action thrillers and mystery with a one of a kind plot twist should pick up this book immediately. The author sets up the storyline and without a hint of what's yet to come. Im curious to find out how Ann's new life in Nebraska fairs after the the murder of her husband. Congrats on the BOTD!

Judith, I thank you for your thorough review of Charlie's Diner by Dennis F Killeen.

After having read a short sample of the book on Amazon I was impressed by how well-written it was. The story captured my full attention immediately. Killeen is a great storyteller. You hit the nail on the head. The plot as you describe in your review was very unexpected. I would not have expected Charlie to act the way he did. The story went in a completely different direction as a result of his actions.

"Charlie's Diner" by Dennis F Killeen. An interesting talks about the story of Charlie. He ones had a family, a wife and a daughter. They died leaving him behind. Paul on his own side caught Charlie and Ann his wife into a sexual act, and killed Charlie but Ann killed him in self defense. This was after Charlie gifted them with a thousand dollars. The characters are great and it's a book recommend. Congrats on your #BOTD.

I feel like your review gave a lot of the story away (almost spoilers), which makes me wonder if it's worth reading the book now, as you've told us a good chunk of it. I would have liked to have been surprised by the killings, but you've taken that away. I'm glad you enjoyed the book, but I don't think I can read it now.

Great summary of the plot and it sounded interesting, could be made in to a movie due to the colorful characters and turn of the events.

A perfect portrayal of how one bad decision would lead to the end of multiple lives. I look forward to seeing how Ann's story really ends., do the police find her? Did Paul really die? Congrats on an amazing review.

The flaws of human characters seem to play their roles perfectly in this intriguing story, and Ann's characterization of dark shades moves the story intriguingly.

Thank you for your informative review. I'm glad that the editing was great as well as you like it so well. It does sound like lots of twists in the plot. It sounds a lot different than what I had expected. I'm sure many will enjoy it. At this time, I'm going to pass on it though for something a little less serious.
