Jack Winnick's Waterworks throws married spies Lara and Uri—who long for a family—into a terrifying plot involving water poisoning. Because it is based on science and current affairs, the race against time seems horrifyingly real. Heroes are humanized as action bursts alongside inner fears. Reading your review was enjoyable, and it has made me want to read more of Jack Winnick's writing.

Thanks for the great review. I'm fascinated by the intrigue noted in the plot, where Lara and Uri are racing against time that is complicated by misinformation from terrorist and activist sides. I also like that the author has included a possible new weapon for terrorism; bioterrorism which may be thought-provoking to the terrorist watch dogs today. I also thought it captivating for the author to include the difficulties of not just working as undercover agents but also working under cover while wishing to start a family. This book has great material that has piqued my interest.

At the beginning I thought it was a silly story about Los Angeles (remembering the LA river in Glendale) but I realized that it went further, which is what we are currently experiencing, with everyone fighting for their interests. The worst of all is that it is something that It can happen, nowadays they treat the water so much that there will be a time when so many chemicals poison this precious resource.

This is the fifth and final installment in the Lara and Uri series. I had the pleasure of reading this book and going on the journey with these two amazing agents. I'm a fan of the series, so to see how far Lara and Uri have come in their personal life was great to see. The amazing thing about this book is it's a standalone, so you do not need to read the previous books to enjoy this one.

Jack Winnick masterfully elevates the Lara and Uri series with 'Waterworks,' taking us on a gripping journey into the complexities of combating terrorism. The unique focus on water supply poisoning adds a chilling layer to the narrative, showcasing the author's ability to explore unconventional threats. Congrats on the BOTD.

Waterworks by Jack Winnick is part of a series of novels based on terrorism. Terrorists based in Iran and Lebanon have planned an unexpected attack on American Jews based in Los Angeles. This time they have used polonium. They plan to release polonium directly into the source of the Los Angeles aqueduct so that a massacre can take place. Once again Uri and Lara are summoned to investigate. A novel based on mystery, thriller, and suspense. Congratulations on the book of the day.

Another great review of a Jack Winnick book! This time for "Waterworks" by Jack Winnick! The story is fast-paced and believable because municipalities have the huge responsibility of supplying water to all residents. Whew, a plausible plot to poison an entire city, that is very scary. The story revolves around Laura and Uri two agents at the top of their game and just married. So we look at this story from the large and from the very personal population size. The responsibility of the city government and the federal government to protect the citizens and from the point of view of the two agents who are at the start of their lives together. Pick up this book today, you won’t be sorry.
If you're going through hell, keep going.

“Waterworks” by Jack Winnick is a fictional, but possible, story about a terrorist attack on the Los Angeles water supply. Teams of terrorists that were members of a Iranian anti-American group added Polonium to the water supply by dropping it in the water from bridges in socks that they used to bring the poison into the U.S. Lara and Uri were already in Los Angeles on vacation so they were deployed to track down the terrorists and find their leader in Iran. This is an action thriller that readers do not want to put down until the last page. This book is Jack Winnick’s 5th book in this series and all of his books are well written and excellent. I highly recommend this book.

This novel explores terrorism on another level by digging deep into the heart of terrorist and terrorist agents.

When Lara and Lye retired from their job to enjoy couple bliss, little did they know that something more awaits them.

The attack comes in a different angle. The water has been poisoned. And water is a source of life, so everything gets affected.

They are charged with the responsibility of fishing out those responsible but the job gets more difficult as misleading information is spread to distract each group from the main cause.

This thrilling book will keep on the edge to know what happens till the very last word.

Such a wonderful review of "Waterworks" by Jack Winnick.

I appreciate you highlighting the real-world scientific grounding of the poisoning plot. Making the threat feel credible and close to home ratchets up the tension tremendously. Deft writing move.
