I wonder how Frankie fulfills the responsibility given to him by biff given all the constraints. This book has all the ingredients of an interesting story. I look forward to reading it. Thanks for this excellent review.

It is a very detailed review that picks up on multiple parts about the novel that would be necessary information for any incoming readers. There is an extra space in the 3rd paragraph, so that might wanted to be edited, even if this review is a few years old. I might pass since it is the second novel and not completely free. Congrats on BOTD and the review! :D

It's interesting that this book made you feel like you are a part of the mafia family. It's a sign of a good book if it can empathize with someone you probably wouldn't normally. Sounds like a fun read.

A mafia story is not something that I would easily read. Frankie has a job to do but Frankie could get killed. Not my cup of tea.

The title of this book befits the storyline. Italian mafia series always has a way of hooking one to the entire plot. The review tells me that this one is no different.
Nonetheless, I'm not a huge fan of mafia stories so I'll pass on this.

I'm not into mob stories, but did find the main character likeable as well. I read the sample portion of the book and also felt like Frankie was trying to be a better man, presumably because he found a great woman and wanted to be someone she deserved.

I would also like to commend the author on providing a summary of the first book in this series. Having that insight going in, explained so much and helped lay out the plot.

Congratulations on being botd!

My greatest accomplishment is that I raised two daughters that love to read.

The book sounds interesting and though I'm not so fond of mafia dealings I do love crime thrillers. This one seems full of events and fast paced enough to keep my attention to the end of the book. It will be interesting to find out whether Frankie finds the money and Biff's son. Congratulations on becoming BOTD!

Already read this one and to if I am honest I wasn't all that thrilled with it. My bad, probably, because I was anticipating something in league with one of Martin Scorsese creations and when it failed in this regard couldn't take well disappointment. To me mafia on screen seems way more existing.

Great review. It sounds like a really interesting read though if the plot is too fast sometimes I fall behind lol

Your review "hooked" me in wanting to read this #BOTD. I generally try to read series in order since a lot of sequels leave out vital information that is needed to grasp the full picture of the character's motivation. Great job on your review.

The Mafia genre of books is one that needs to be done right or else it comes off as an inauthentic novel. I do think that the rating is current because in a story that has many characters and lots of details, the plot should not be rushed through. I like that the story made you think of the Godfather since that is the quintessential Mafia film.
