Mayflies by Pam Keevil is an intriguing murder mystery and a love triangle. When the skeletons of a mother and child are discovered by Alice near the river bank, the lives of Luke, Ruby, and Alice are changed forever. I am curious to know what happened. Congratulations on the BOTD!

“Mayflies” by Pam Keevil is a interesting story about a headteacher name Alice, her admin Ruby, Ruby’s gran who is suffering from dementia and two dead skeletons that had been unearthed by the side of the river that Alice had seen one of them before she notified the police. A small peaceful town in an area where a Roman army camp had been found in the UK a few years before. Since the skeletons were a woman and child that had been in the ground for a long enough period to have their clothes rot away and their bodies were skeletons but until the police determined who they were and how they died the new home development that was close to beginning and would send many children to the school where their tuitions would bring in very needed income and keep the school running. Excellent suspense for a great mystery. I have added the book to my to-read list.

'Alice Tanner headed towards the river to retrieve the football for her student, but she discovered the skeletons of a woman and a child who are said to have been dead for decades.'
This gives this book a sense of intrigue.

The romance in the book was actually to spice things up for me, which I enjoyed. What actually drew me to the book was the suspenseful start about the mystery of the bones. I also loved how the characters of the three friends and their emotional dynamics were well developed throughout the story.

Relationships are forged from a mutual interest. And from the review, the book seems to share a story that unfold what makes a relationship sprout. Besides, I'm curious to know who the woman and her child, whose skeletons were discovered by the river, and what caused their death. I will add the book to my shelf.
