Book seems interesting but it's definitely not my cup of tea. Great review though.

I probably won't receive credit for my reply, because I've read only the first story. Which was was gently told, with a touching surprise ending. But I disagree about the number of proofreading errors. I counted 12.

What a creative review! I’m not sure I’m interested in some of the unsavoury characters that are mentioned but it is very nice that the book has been well edited.

I’m curious to see how the author links writing with his experience as a sommelier. Great review!

A book of short stories revolving around the bubbly, ranging from innocent to fanning the flames, sounds like a fun one to read. I know that after reading the sample I am hooked and want to read more. As for the review, it is fantastic. It is creative and a fun one to read. Thanks!

The sample was quite inviting. My curiosity about the treasure hidden somewhere seems getting the better of me. Will it be material, or something else? I once saw a movie about wines, with the a similar setting as this sample story. There were Germans also hoarding all wines they could find. The movie "The Secret of St Victoria" or was it "Vittoria? " I can't exactly tell. Anyway, the wine was stashed in a cave, and everybody knows because everybody helped in stashing those bottles there, but the Germans never found out. Edgar Allan Poe's "Cask of Amontillado" is of a different vein, it's sort of a horror kind. Thanks for the interesting review. Here's a toast for this book being BOTD.

I like how the author contrasts and connects the similarities between the wine cellar and his stories. I look forward to reading it. Thanks for the review.

I loved the sample, and your review introduced a new idea about this book that I never thought of before! The treasure that is mentioned... what could it be? I am not familiar with champagne, but the concepts that the author used are impressive indeed.

Thank you for sharing your beautifully written review with us. I was reluctant about reading this book, as I don’t generally enjoy stories set in the war. I was pleasantly surprised to see that the war in plays a very small part in the overall story. I believe I will enjoy this collection of tales as much as you did.

Your review and possibly The Champagne Tales may be above my raising for I know next to nothing about wines or champagnes, but I devour short stories of all flavors and you whet my appetite for this sampler with your lively description of the menu. I look forward to reading the book, even if I have to keep a dictionary handy.

Your review is refreshingly superb. Right on point with the champagne lingo. Champagne Tales sounds like a full bodied flute of the bubbly. The different stories are just about as entertaining as the different notes in a mature wine. Entertaining and intriguing.

Based on the review of the book this is not something that I would enjoy reading. I am not interested in wine. I also have no interest in the story. I will pass on reading this book.

I'll have to pass on this one. Though it is cool that this book combines stories and champagne.
