Chief of Police Ernie Gravnick's life takes a thrilling and dangerous turn in this well-crafted mystery. The author's ability to build suspense, create complex characters, and intertwine romance with crime-solving is commendable. A must-read for fans of suspenseful and intricately plotted narratives.

I too feel drawn to Dora Gravnick's character. Despite all she has gone through she has managed to come out strong.

Your review is as amazing as the book itself. I hope to be as good a writer too with time. The errors in the book almost made me drop it but its such a page-turner and i finished it wanting more.

For this to be the author's debut mystery novel, it sure has many aspects and components of being a great read. Murder mysteries are my favorite genre because you get to follow the detectives on their leads and gather evidence. I cannot wait to get my hands on this book. Congrats to the author for having the BOTD.

I love crime thrillers, and this book sounds perfect. I like that it has good characterization and plot twists, but what's really noteworthy for me is that it has realistic dialogue – I've always been drawn to good dialogue. The grammatical errors don't affect my enjoyment of a good novel so that doesn't worry me. I'm looking forward to seeing how Ernie solves this case. Thanks for the review.

I feel this novel combines my favorite genres; crime, suspense, thriller and drama. I'm sold from the very start. I want to know who killed the people Gravnick discovered. This book combines more than one profession which makes it quite interesting and not boring. I'm more than excited to read it!

Chief of Police Ernie Gravnick's life is about to change. His latest case is not only proving to be like a riddle, wrapped in a mystery, inside an enigma, but it could also - quite literally - be the death of him. First, a husband and wife appear to have been brutally hacked and beaten to death, and the evidence points to their 13-year-old son as the culprit. Then while investigating a lead, Ernie is nearly beaten to death and left in a coma. It appears someone does not want him to solve this case.
- This is one of the best reviews yet. Thank you. Ten four, over and out!

Gravnick seems like a great book. The story has elements of mystery and suspense. Plus, it also has a bit of romance and action. The storyline seems captivating. Hopefully later editions of the book won't have the errors mentioned.

“Gravnick” by Bob Herpe is a action thriller involving Ernie Gravnick as the main character. The story starts with the attempted murder of the owner of a cosmetic firm and her husband in Highland Park, IL. The husband was dead and the wife was still alive but in a coma. Ernie Gravnick was the grandson of a mob boss and witnessed the death of his grandfather and his father at the Zoo. Ernie and his mom were left destitute after the IRS seized all of the Don’s assets. Ernie was a very bright boy that excelled in school and sports. He earned his law degree from the University of Chicago and went to work for the DA. After realizing that the politics that transpired at the DA office were not what he wanted, he left and joined the Chicago Police Department. Ernie rapidly advanced to Asst. Chief before his involvement in the Cosmetic Co. case. Having grown up in the Chicago suburbs I could easily visualize the places cited in the fictional story. I have read half of the book and I intend to finish because I want to learn why this all happened. Excellent story with a very good review.
