Erorrs could affect the reading enjoyment. But the playlist sounds interesting. Reading with music sounds fun. Thanks for the review.

“Family Business” by James Jack Fauser is a thriller on secret missions, it seems interesting but I’ll pass because of the errors. Nice review though and congratulations on BOTD.

Crime and thriller are two of my favorite genres, and by reading the sample and your excellent review, it is definitely going on my "want to read" shelf. Thanks for the very, informative review....and Congrats to the author for attaining BOTD honors.

Espionage? Wow. I guess the book is more than just the title.
Action and thriller packed book sounds so amazing. I love it.

I'm a big fan of action thrillers. From the review, Family Business is going to make a good read. Congratulations on BOTD.

Intriguing with fast and interesting character and plot development.
This book needs some serious editing to eliminate grammatical errors. (Pick me! I will edit this for you because the grammar did not stop my interest in the story.)

I enjoy thrillers and it was disappointing that JJ Fauser's peculiar syntax kept disrupting the story for me. Erroneous and missing punctuation, odd mixing of adverbs and adjectives, random capitalisation, inelegant word choice (ie 'capturers' for 'captors', 'non-descripted' for 'non-descript', 'I' for 'me'), inconsistencies, and awkward sentences abound. Fingernails down a blackboard. It was a challenge to finish the excerpt. If I had been reading the book, I would probably flip to the final pages to see how it ends. But that's probably it.

I read Zee_Zee's detailed review, opening this thread, after I read the sample text. While I was surprised at the rating of 3/4, Zee_Zee has read the entire book. I'll take their word for it, particularly as they're clear there's a good story in there somewhere. It would be great if Fauser gets the opportunity to go back and do a copy edit because all these issues really detract from the story.

It was worth checking out Fauser's playlist. No surprise that there's three theme songs from the James Bond movie franchise! There's a lot more than that, 45 tracks with something to please or interest everyone as he sets the scene through some great and evocative tracks. Amongst the well known tracks and movie standards, there's some that were new to me such the opening track: Beady Belle's Irony. Nice.

I read the sample on Amazon, and found the number of errors quite distracting - were/where swapped (both ways), many other wrong words, commas in the wrong places.

There also seemed a lot of irrelevant detail - the family background, the man selling train tickets in Palermo. Did you notice that ? Or did those details turn out to be relevant ?

I like fast-paced action thrillers and J. J sounds like a daredevil who is not afraid to navigate the dangers of the underworld. I hope the editors look into the errors you pointed out so readers can enjoy the story as you did.

Thanks for such an honest review. Unfortunately, JJ brings threats to loved ones in the pursuit of bringing someone to the task. It is good to do things that will not cause harm to your circle.

This sounds like a pretty interesting story. J.J seems to be in a pickle as to solving the case. I look forward to reading about the unusual coincidences. Interesting review.

Family Business seems like an exciting thriller. I like that the author shares a playlist for readers to listen to while reading the book. It's unfortunate that the book has so many errors. Hopefully later editions of the book will be re-edited. Congratulations on making book of the day!
