You have done a great job at reviewing this book. I can understand what's the story is about. The adventure of a little girl with her companion and the dogs in a small town trying to find the missing Ruby earring so that she can clear her friend's name. I do found a little error in the sample book in the second page. Pickles was Jennifer nickname right. The author should introduce her nickname before calling him Pickles. It just a small mistake that probably have been adjusted in final book. I agree with you that the cover background is a little bland. Maybe a scenery from the town can be added.

Josephe-Anne, thank you for this review. It is indeed beautiful thing that there are still simple, clean children's books to be found. It is definitely a throw-back to the Famous Five and Secret Seven style of sleuthing stories. It is only a pity that one has to time travel to the 80's and 90's for such wholesomeness, as using a more modern setting for it would be, unfortunately, quite unrealistic. Your review of this book is excellent incentive for readers to pick up this book. Kudos!

A light and fun mystery story for children. I love books that make you feel identified with the characters, and that also stimulate children's imagination. This is certainly a book I would like to read and share. Thank you for this interesting review.

This seems to be a mysterious and thrilling story for children. Pickles and her friends are going to solve the case of a missing jewel in this book. It talks about community values and friendship too. Congrats on BOTD to the author! Thanks for the review!

Can I be a teen again? How I wish! This brings back memories of childhood, reading detective stories and just thinking of myself as the main act. Thanks for the lovely review.

The Adventures of Sweet Pickles McGillicuddy: The Mystery of the Disappearing Ruby Earring by James C. Wright - the sample I have read, description of village, the relationship between Max and Rosie - pickle's parents, how the parent comforts their children, spending time with kid in loveable & beautiful ways by sharing good thoughts, making life interesting and with full of freedom. I appreciate the parenting which was presented in this book. In the description of pickle in this book, I could resemble myself in her. I'm sure everyone love this book and this book brings everybody to remind to their memories and to make them feeling alive.

I would read this book. I think it would be fun to reminisce on that time period. It coincides with my childhood. Otherwise, it sounds like a good book for kids.

I like that the story seemed to be set in the 1980s or 1990s because recent technology was not mentioned in the plot, and the concept of nuclear family dynamics. Great review
