Thanks for the review. I enjoy reading mysteries and this one sounds like one worth reading. Unfortunately some of the problems that you identified are still happening in the school systems. This sounds like a great rainy day read.

Although I love mysteries, this book hasn't grabbed my attention, so I think I'll pass. Thanks for the great review!

The setting in San Francisco was interesting as I am familiar with the city, it's neighborhoods and landmarks. The author spoke about the deficiencies in the city's high school system of which I was unaware. Also, part of the story was about sailing in the San Francisco Bay. This was in addition to the story's plot which kept me in suspense until the end. I highly recommend this book!
Sailing part was the most boring thing for me as i have no interest in sailing. Am glad you liked everything about it.

I agree with you that the book deals with real issues especially the yellow journalism thing.

kdstrack wrote: 13 Sep 2019, 11:28 The status of the public schools is disturbing. They are turning out graduates who cannot read or do basic math! When a high school graduate cannot multiply 33 X 2 (personal experience) this is discouraging! This seems like an interesting story that shines a light on a growing public concern. Thanks for your fascinating review!
The book also sheds light on the disability of educational institution to provide good teachers for students. Some people who know nothing about teaching are seen teaching at schools. This all is frustrating.

Let's solve those mysteries, and at the same time, let's put an end to those discouraging and upsetting problems in our schools. Great review, by the way. You've got everyone thinking, as well as wanting to read the book. Congratulations!
Thanks a lot for appreciating Yolanda☺. I hope all these problems get solved and this world becomes a better place to live in.

Sounds like a decent enough novel, despite one or two loose ends. Really enjoyed your review of it!
