I liked the review. The book seems to be interesting by the fact that it uses parts of the history of ancient civilizations, and that is what it made me want to read it.

Congrats on BOTD!
Together with a fast-moving, action-packed plot, this interesting mystery offers a fantastic blend of religion, science, and history. All of the characters, including Maya Harrington, are well-developed. The reader is transported to far-off places by their exploits. It's a terrific read.

"Lost Secret of the Ancient Ones" by Chris Reynolds is a captivating and thought-provoking start to The Manna Chronicles series. The story revolves around Maya Harrington's quest to find her missing father, Dr. Alex Harrington, a physicist who has unearthed a perilous secret. The plot takes readers on a thrilling journey across the globe as Maya, with the help of her friends, searches for her father and unravels the mysteries he left behind.

Definately something I would pick. :techie-studyingbrown: On reading the sample, I could certainly verify that the book had a Dan Brown element to it. Giving a plausible shape to theory by the use of myth and religion is a ticket to a best-seller.
Either I will find a way or I will make one.

Lost Secret of the Ancient Ones is a whirlwind of mystery akin to Dan Brown, but with a unique twist on mind travel and parallel worlds. If you're into fast-paced adventures with a side of ancient secrets and a dash of metaphysics, you might enjoy unraveling this puzzle with Maya. Congratulations on being BOTD!

Thorough review! While I agree with the comparisons others have made to Dan Brown’s works, what came to my mind reading this review was actually the book “A Wrinkle in Time,” as there appears to be a number of similar story beats with this book (i.e. a girl’s search for her father [w/ help from friends], exploring new worlds, making discoveries, mystery, etc.). It’s one thing to incorporate ancient civilizations into action/adventure narratives, but bringing in religious/spiritual elements is a whole other beast. I’d be interested to know just how (and how well) that is done with this book.

This sounds like the sort of book I enjoy reading so I have downloaded a copy. I do enjoy books that combine historical facts and travelling to amazing places of historical interest. I’m a huge Dan Brown fan so this is yet another incentive. Thank you for the interesting review and I look forward to getting into this book.

Experiencing the excitement of a gripping mystery that seamlessly blends religious, scientific, and historical elements while maintaining a fast-paced and action-packed storyline is one of my greatest pleasures. The comparison to Dan Brown is a great compliment that entices me to delve deeper into the story.

I would love to read the book to understand the part referring to the Garden of Eden entirely. I hope to enjoy both the search and the mysteries.
