Thank you for your review! I really enjoyed the sample of this book and especially enjoyed the short chapters. I like to take a break and think through what happened in a chapter and this helped tremendously!

Thanks for your review. It's quite rare for a book to have a criminal as its main character. And it seems Clinton is an interesting guy with his policies and relationships.

You wrote a great review! But next time, make your summary shorter. And you could have enumerated more of the things you liked in the book. But overall, I liked your candid review.

I found Clint Kennedy quite interesting. He is a generally likable person, but he is also a morally grey character. He is in bed with nefarious individuals who place little to no value on human life. He aids in, and benefits from, their illegal venture and loses no sleep over lives lost while doing business as long as it does not directly affect him. Clint is also a devoted son, a loyal brother, and a good friend. His warm familial relationship with his surrogate parents, as well as his generous philanthropic side, added depth to both his character and the story.
Aren't we all morally gray? Sure, I don't work for a drug lord (and I hope you don't either 😜) but the flawed human nature is what makes great characters, in my opinion.
It's hard to write such a book without gratuitous violence, so kudos to the author!

Though the character of Clint Kennedy seems to have been well-developed in this story, anti-heroes do not have much appeal for me. I do not believe this is a book suitable for impressionable young people, but it should certainly be of interest to those who enjoy a fast-paced and action-packed thriller.

I agree with the long winded sentences you mentioned, but even though of that after reading the first chapter I was intrigued to continue with the story. Thank you for the review!

Looks like a fast-paced thriller highlighting Clint’s life turns including the drug angle. Nice review, Adedayo+23. Thanks.

This seems like a well-written novel, particularly from the several pages that I read. And certainly, the review made me eager to dip in and sample the novel. I'm going to have to pass on it, however, as I don't like to start reading novels that are part of a series, without reading the earlier books first. Congratulations to the author on achieving BOTD and perhaps I'll get an opportunity to check out the first book in the series sometime later this year.

Sounds like a great book. Drug cartels are certainly complex organizations, and highly dangerous. I can't even imagine someone making so much money every day! Interesting to find out how he did it.

Clint sounds like an interesting character who has to juggle a lot a stressful situations. The story sounds great, especially with the lead character being a criminal involved in drug cartels in Mexico. Thanks for a great review.
