The second book in the Ruslan Shanidza series. It fuses issues of conflict, loss, love, and politics. The main characters seem to be likable and relatable. It sounds appropriate for those who love action-and-war readings.

Thank you for your informative review. As someone who doesn't often like politically themed books, I'm looking forward to reading the humorous part in the sample. The setting is not like in most books I've read, so every detail in this novel is new to me. Congratulations on the BOTD.

Action, war and politics doesn't appeal me ,so I'll just pass this one. However, I appreciate your detailed review.

This is a captivating historical political fiction novel highlighting crime, horror, love, loss, conflict, and a unique protagonist. The book is temporarily discounted on Amazon Kindle and has an inciteful OnlineBookClub review. Congrats @paulclark42GB on the BOTD selection.

I'm always reluctant to read book series. However, if one is a standalone, you don't need to read the previous books to understand and follow the story. This is worth checking out. Your review was quite enjoyable.

The characters in this book sound impressive but I am not interested in reading books about war and politics. Although, you did a great review

I have read the first two chapters, though I am not a fan of action books. Well written, interesting, but with strange names( some with a Georgian sound). I have never heard of the region and for sure I have never heard of tribes still living in former Soviet countries...This makes me want to read it!

Coming from a multi-tribal country with the major ethnic groups lording over the minor tribes, I could relate to the book's plot. Paul did a superb job of conveying the undercurrent of resentment and distrust that lay in the associations of the Ksords and Akhtarians.
This is what I love about literature. And about OBC. I'm not familiar at all with this multi-tribal reality, but Id love to learn more, and reading your perspective is so enriching! Thank you!

This book, the second in a series, certainly got off to an exhilarating start. I can see why it will appeal to fans of action stories, war and political intrigue but due to the explicit violence I will pass on this one. Thanks for the excellent review on this book.

What entices most about the book is the fact that it details more about the happenings around the world and not just the place the actually talks about.

A nice mix of war and politics in the book "A Long Night of Chaos" by Paul Clark, which focuses on Ruslan, who has to choose between loyalty to self-serving politicians and his duty to his people along with self-preservation. The book looks appealing to me to grab a copy.
life is only knowing the unknown, we can do this by reading books easily- Online book club is a great place for this. This is what I believe.
