The reviewer has managed to bring the book to life for me considering the dark theme and title. A young boy is forced to live in a dysfunctional family and make ends meet. His father is a good for nothing and domestic violence and related issues are portrayed. Government and law enforcement should take note as we continue to experience this in this century! So much drama and thriller to boot. Great read.

I have sampled the book and would go through it more in coming times. So far it appears a dark tale arousing the finer sentiments in the readers. The review has brought out the gist of the book very nicely. Thanks.

The book seems impressive from the review as it not only introduces us to a world of fantasy but also touches and highlights a number of interesting social issues. I look forward to reading it, I want to know if Vander got the life he dreamed of and if he took his mother with him, away from his abusive father.

The review of the book is quite insightful. It seems deep with the way Vander is depicted, a young boy living in a dysfunctional home with a getaway life in the terrifying supernatural world. I will like to read this.

Thank you for giving so many details to prevent sensible people (like me sometimes) from trading this book. I think this kind of book will bring negative emotions to me, therefore I don't think I will read it anytime soon. However, it seems like the authors made a great job portraying reality.

The book cover has the illustrations that depicts the content of the book. The dark forces surrounding Vander are potrayed and the bird dark in color symbolises the dark forces that he faces as he tries to understand his supernatural powers. However, their is hope as the light portrayed before him tends to reflect this. The town he lives is close by as illustrated in the horizon this is where he faces the businessman who trusts in him though the father doesn't and also the serial killer trying to find him. Congrats to the BOTD

Making Monsters sounds like a very dark and disturbing story and one which shows us some harsh truths of our times.

A deeply introspective book that touches on themes of gender bias, race, domestic abuse and violence. The author does a remarkable job at introducing the characters and paints the narrative in a disturbingly realistic way. Congrats on the BOTD!
