After reading the first few chapters and the well-written review, I shall pass on this book. While the author does have a good writing style, the themes discussed in the narrative do not appeal to me.

love how this book delves into the complex relationship between a father and his daughter. Adding tragedy and shame only expound upon this. Congratulations on the back of the day!

To be honest, Salty sounds unresponsible and cowardly, a trait I don't like in a main character. But his journey for closure and perhaps redemption sounds intruiging to read. So maybe I try to read the book to find out. Thank you for the review.

I enjoy a character-driven novel when the characters drive the plot, as opposed to the other way around. This book certainly appears to be one such novel. Kudos to Mr. Davis on his accomplishment and on earning BOTD honors.

To be honest, I was intrigued by the title. I mean, why would anybody use such word for his creation, it's not exactly evoke positive connotations, but thanks for this great review, I understand it better. Sounds complex and believable, rarity for stories nowadays, but I can relate regarding the conflicting relationship between a father and daughter. Saw it numerous times parents and kids, loving each other even when they hate with similar force.

This sounds like such a depressing plot line. However, the high praise in your review has encouraged me to take a look. Thank you for the well-written and encouraging book review.

Today's BOTD is a thriller that follows Salty and the daughter he abandoned as a child, after killing her mother. I hope Sylvia is able to find closure! It sounds like this one is filled with lots of emotion, and I'm looking forward to reading it. Thank you for the helpful review!! :-)

The premise of this novel is really intriguing. I cannot imagine myself accidentally killing my partner because we are arguing. Congratulations to the author for BOTD!
