Your study presents a thorough perspective on the plot and the author's writing style. Because I prefer novels with more detailed writing, I might miss this one. Thank you for sharing your in-depth insight. I'd like to congratulate Andrew Cooper, the winner of BOTD!

I can't imagine going through the things that Lily has seen. It's no wonder that she feels crazy. Congratulations on BOTD!

I am not a fan of horror, suicide, and depression. This book is way too intense for my taste. Not for me, but congrats to the author on BOTD! Thank you for writing a captivating review!

Today's BOTD doesn't sound like one for me, but those looking for a thought-provoking mystery with dark elements, serious topics, and suspense may enjoy it! In addition, readers who appreciate the use of literary devices to help move the story along are in for a treat. Thank you for your review; it was really helpful! :-)

So far, I am not sure I will read it, but I am sure I will try it! Thank you for pointing out the need for more fleshing out of some of the events. I have run into that recently and it really can detract from an otherwise well-written story. I am not one to need lurid descriptions, but if an event is tragic enough or traumatic enough (or spectacular enough) to profoundly change a character's life, then that horror (or joy) should be brought to impactful life in the story. This is an important point that somehow seems to have been overlooked in several books I have read which were based on Christian Apocalypse foundations.

Bright, independent Lily Henshaw rides home with her friends Kris, Eric, and Mia after an evening of celebration and ends up in a nightmare. Two men in a pickup truck stalk them on the road. The truck sideswipes them, and they pull over—where the two men subdue them with a gun and a tire iron. One of the men announces that it's "crazy time," and a game of violence and murder begins. Lily barely escapes with her life.

Months later, she is still traumatized, and more horrors are still to come. Her brother kills himself, apparently part of a "cluster suicide." A devastating robbery leaves her and her boss, Burt—with whom she has a budding romance—jobless. The traumas become increasingly bizarre as violence and tragedy surround her. With help from dead friends' visits, Lily, an agnostic, starts to see parallels between her suffering and the Book of Job. Questioning her sanity, she adopts "curse logic" and looks for answers, consulting a psychic, a Satanist, a preacher, and an unusual specialist in the occult named Tobias Centurion, who points her toward corporate executives. With a grudge against the Almighty, she follows a twisted path with increasingly apocalyptic implications.

Deliberately transgressive, Crazy Time deals with very dark, disturbing subject matter. Much of it draws from religious material, but it is NOT a religious book. Instead, as Readers' Favorite Book Reviews notes, it is "a surreal world... uncompromising... raw and bold." Lines between sane and insane, real and unreal, aren't just blurry—they're often invisible. Read the book Kirkus Reviews calls "an uncomfortable, trippy, and original roller-coaster ride... riveting and unsettling... with a compelling hero."

The review has made me curious about this book. An agnostic central character who gets involved with tragedy of biblical proportions. It will indeed be a revelatory read! I have downloaded the eBook in anticipation of an interesting story.

I can't fathom the immense pain Lily must have endured, having to witness the tragic loss of her three closest friends and her brother's heartbreaking suicide. My heartfelt wish is for her to find the strength to heal from this profound trauma. This book appears to be an emotionally intense read, and I extend my congratulations to the author for receiving the Book of the Day award!

I can't believe that one person can go through so much horror at the same time, I really think that the title suites exactly what the book is about, I really feel for Lily. Crazy Times indeed.

Your review really piqued my curiosity. Lily's life is reminiscent of the story of Job. I do hope her story would end well too. Congrats to the author for making BOTD!
