I think, overall, it struck a nice balance between description, plot, and characterization, without giving too much away.

I have noticed that it happens a lot with movie previews. They show a bunch of them and each successive one gives more of the movie away until you feel like you have seen all the good scenes in the movie.

Have you noticed book video trailers suddenly popping up?

That's definitely true. Sometimes I wonder what the point is--so with a novel being made into a movie, I always read the book first.

If I have not already read the book when the movie is out I will see the movie without reading the book. The movie usually makes me wonder how different it is from the book. I pick up the book to compare and contrast it to the movie.

I guess I am in the minority. Once I've seen the movie, I am not as interested in reading the book. However, if I read the book first, then I want to see the movie to see if the actors match up with what I pictured when reading.

LOL. I was excited about the Harry Potter books/ movies. The movies made me want to read the books to fill in the gaps. On the flip side I was disappointed in the first Hunger games movie but loved the books. I still saw the second and third movie. :)

I am not a fan of the Hunger Games series, but I'm sure I am in the minority.

LOL... I know! When I tell people about it they usually look at me weird and tell me that it is oddly specific. I do like a lot of genre's though. Collision Course gave me that ah ha moment. I suddenly totally got why people enjoy mystery novels so much. :D

Glad you enjoyed the book. One thing that's so great about this site is finding gems like this.

I like 'em too. I have just discovered the Change series by S.M. Stirling. The first one is called Dies the Fire. Highly recommended.
