Very nice review, debo. Like Susan, I would take every cat "that has an absentee owner". Thankfully, unlike Susan, I don`t need to solve crime. The book appeals to me.

Thank you for your kind words, ladies. Writers are pathetic, needy people and to hear that a reader has enjoyed their work is marvellous indeed :)

The Celibate Mouse is my favourite and I freely admit that every cat I have been owned by has been a rescue. Our last, Fuss, died two years ago at the age of 20 and we have not gotten another one as yet. We currently have two pet rats, Ophelia and Daisy - you would now that Marli had pet rats in C/Mouse - who we love dearly :) I have had pet rats for many years while we had our mouse circus, which we sold after we retired in 2006. Can't resist putting animals in my books - Jeffrey the labrador is prominent in After Ariel.

Great review! I don't usually like crime novels, but this one sounds wonderful. I'll have to put it on my reading list!
