I'm usually turned off by a second book in a series (when I haven't read the first one) but this one sounds interesting. Not only does it do well to summarise the first book's events, but it is also full of action, suspense, surprises, romance, and even some comedy.

I'm normally abit skeptical when it comes to mafia books. In that case, I won't read By Hook or BY Crook by Al Marsiglia but I will recommend it. Congratulations to the author on the BOTD. Great review! BB

To bad that the pace was off. It is very important that action is not very good paced. I always try to start to read the series from book one, never mind the fact that the author included plotline of the previous book. Great review.

This sounds like an amazing book. I haven’t read a lot of mafia books but enjoyed the Godfather movies. I’ve always worried they’d be too slow but you saying this book was fast paced made me really intrigued. I also love that the author includes a summary of the last book. Thanks for the great review.

Nice review. This book seems to be interesting. It's title as well as its cover page are really amazing. Though I am not a fun of this genre, but i have decided to add it on my a must read shelves. Al Marsiglia must have done a great job while writing it.

While I enjoy fast-paced action books I agree that going too fast can take away from character development. On the other hand, this mafia thriller sounds quite exciting. Frankie must carry out a risky job before getting his share of the money. He will surely encounter many obstacles along the way. Thanks for the amazing review.

Italian mafia has always been very interesting. This book is a bit of everything with its main protagonist, Frankie. It shows strong family ties and need to have money.

I'm not big into mafia thrillers, so I dont have enough literacy in the genre to keep up with this kind of novel as an outsider. I was interested by the plot twists and movement of the story, but I was too distracted trying to follow along to actually enjoy the book very much. 2 stars

This book just reminds me of 'the Godfather'. Italian Mafia stories are always interesting, and this one will be as well. Congratulations on being BOTD

That's great that the author did a little recap at the beginning of the book for those "late to the series" readers. Also, I love it when authors show "bad boys" with heart. Really adds to the entertainment value of the book!

I've sampled this book and they've provided a brief synopsis of the first book in the series. Based on this synopsis, I don't think the storyline will appeal to me. However, you've written a wonderful review.
