Death Panels" by Greg Vigdor, a book that features Las Vegas, medical facilities, and terminal illness. It will be interesting to read more about the characters especially, Jones.

The book sounds quite interesting—intense and thought-provoking. The issues it raises seem relevant not only to the American healthcare system but to healthcare systems around the world. It really makes me wonder: what are the criteria used to decide who deserves to live and who can be tossed aside? That question is deeply unsettling and worth exploring. It will be interesting to read this book. Congratulations on becoming BOTD!

The chapters are not numbered on the individual title pages, which bothered me a little. Another negative for me occurred halfway through when the focus shifted from Nancy to Irv. The frequent updates on Nancy's situation disappeared. I kept wondering about her. However, this technique did increase the apprehension that led to the dramatic climax.
That just means you were invested enough.
My rating for this book is five out of five because I like that it made me face a question I hadn't considered before: How do we, as a society, determine who gets life-serving benefits? If you are interested in learning about that topic, you will benefit from reading Death Panels.
Like you, I love medical dramas (I know you love House M.D.), and I also love mysteries. There's a great sense of satisfaction in solving the puzzle. I understand these questions are crucial, but I really don't want to think about COVID ever again if I can help it, and much less for leisure. And Long Covid is its own unique kind of hell.
Great review, though!

Great review! I was unfamiliar with the concept of death panels, and therefore, I would not have chosen this book. I thought that it was about violent murders. I am interested in medical stories, and since this book addresses recent events related to our pandemic, I will add it to my reading list. Thanks for the review!

109 chapters? The number seems relatively huge, but I am glad that there is coherence and hence would make reading the book an exciting experience. I just read the sample and I like the author's writing style. I hope that Nancy Jones will survive the experience, though my curiosity is piqued to know what is happening. Thanks for the review, @Diana Lowery.

As a previous heathcare worker, I agree with the author and reviewer of "Death Panels" when saying that things need to change regarding the healthcare that we receive. While I also do enjoy a good medical drama show like the reviewer, there are many unaware of the inconsistencies of real-life medical treatments. Good job reviewer for sharing your thoughts on this book.

I read the sample and I feel like lately onlinebookclus is on the covid topic, like the book from yesterday. I liked the way it is written, very descriptive and also is the tipe of book that keeps jumping from the the perspective of different characters; however I am not really a fan of health-related novels, and this author has the mejority of them related to this topic.

I am curious to see how the characters' medical treatment is determined in this book. For example, is it based on age, wealth, insurance, or some other factor? The review makes it sound intriguing. Thank you for your informative review.

"Death Panels" by Greg Vigdor follows the dramatic circumstances of Nancy Jones who wakes up from a coma in a strange medical prison confused and alone. This place is a medical prison where she has no control. Her life hangs in the balance between health policy consultant Irv Tinsley and a panel who decides who lives and who dies. This Thriller is sure to be a emotional, scary ride for the reader. Great BOTD.

Congrats on BOTD.
Greg Vigdor's fictitious story "Death Panels" explores the American system of health care. The writer had intimate knowledge because she worked as a hospital administrator. A cinematic adaptation of this fascinating and exciting novel is possible.

In today's BOTD Nancy Jones wakes up in a medical prison after a Long Covid-induced coma, while Irv Tinsley uncovers a deadly health policy conspiracy reaching from Las Vegas to Congress. Readers of medical thrillers will find this both engaging and thought-provoking, as it raises moral questions about who lives, who dies, and who decides. Thank you so much for your review…it was super helpful! :-)

"Death Panels" by Greg Vigdor appears to be a fast-paced medical thriller. The story centers around a woman trapped in a strange clinic after getting Long Covid and a man trying to fix the broken healthcare system. As their stories connect, secrets begin to unfold that reach all the way to Congress and even Russia. The book raises big questions about who gets life-saving care and why. For those interested in medical dramas this could be an exciting read.

"Death Panels" by Greg Vigdor blends medical drama with a sharp critique of the US healthcare system. Follow Nancy, a Long Covid patient, and Irv, a conflicted policy detective, in a gripping tale that exposes hard truths—with Russian mobs and Vegas in the mix. Congratulations on being BOTD!
