The examination of the gang culture and the police system is timely. Thanks for the insights and congratulations on Book of the Day!

The book seems well done and I love the way the author portrays both parties (criminals and police men) as humans who have several factors acting on them. It's not just black and white for either. Thanks for a lovely review!

Cops in most societies are the ones that can make or break a good community. It comes back to one thing: a cop is a person in the first place. With all the flaws and desires. However, a mistake by these individuals have very little room as it can have irriversible effects. A bold and nessessary book. Congrats to the author.

I agree with the author's narrative that they'll be no good cops if good cops don't stop the bad cops. Like if they don't challenge the system, they are part of the system. It's also sad that the fact that criminals are also victims of their own circumstances isn't just the author's concept in the plot but also happens in real life.

Darkness of Blue is more than just a crime thriller, the author addresses the issues that actually affect people in reality like the corrupt justice system, the so called "good cops" that don't actually stop the bad cops, and the reasons why criminals are the way they are. Great review and congrats on BOTD!

This sounds like it would make a great movie. I think it's interesting that it explores the lives of the criminals and lets them tell their sides of the story as well as reveal what it means to truly be a police officer, including the risks and corruption within the system. How enlightening, thanks for sharing!

The cover and the title caught my attention. It sounds like a crime thriller I'd enjoy reading. Thanks for the review!

Darkness of Blue by Gary A. James is a crime thriller that tells the story of a police officer and a civilian in a prison facility. Myles Konrad was once a detective in a special investigation unit whose goal was to neutralize gang activities in Oklahoma City. A case of mistaken identity led to terrible fallouts, challenging Konrad’s ethical stance as a police officer.

Meanwhile, Troy Devante Jones has been spending the last fifteen years in prison. In his conversations with his confidant, Jordan Conley, Troy recounted the events that occurred prior to his detention and how his life tied to a police officer named Myles Konrad.

Amid Black Lives Matter protests and controversial police-civilian encounters, this book holds so much relevance. On the one hand, the story explores the lives of the police. It depicts the dangerous nature of their job as well as the corruption within the institution. On the other hand, the story understands that there are factors beyond control that make a criminal resort to illegal activities.

A very interesting book that I look forward to reading the entire story. With all that is happening in the U.S. today regarding police shooting blacks, the concept of a police officer in prison is eye opening. Great official review.

The storyline is a good one. So much information to learn from the book. We should always listen to both side of a story before judging being one of them. Congratulations on book of the day.

Corruption is a persisting problem in and out of the government. If at least one person is fighting for fairness then there is still hope. Nice review. Keep it up.

One thing that stood out for me in this book was how the author explored 2 sides of the coin: criminals and why they do what they do. I mean, most often we fail to understand that these people are humans and whatever they do/did may have been ignited by something else. I really love the narrative painted by the author. Congratulations on the book of the day.

This sounds like an interesting, excellent, and truly remarkable story especially now amid so much controversy when it comes to the police and civilians. It's a must-read story!!!
