The plot of the book seems interesting, but I'm not so much a fan of ghost stories. Beautiful review, though.

There seem to be many moving parts to this story. Based on this review, I don't think this book is right for me. I will say congratulations to the author for having the BOTD.

Thanks for your great review. It sounds very interesting. I liked how you described solving the mystery being like doing a puzzle. I do enjoy family-oriented stories and a functional family at that! After reading your review I was sure I wanted to add it to my list of books to read. Thank you.

I am curious to find out if Oweyn Skinner finally moves on to the afterlife since it must have been horrible to be trapped since the sixteenth century. I am also curious to see what John and his family unravel and what real world consequences it has. Congratulations on BOTD.

I love the plot of this book, and I love the storyline. I'd love to know how Oweyn was trapped by his adversary. This book will be a good read. Thanks for your review.

Do people get stuck in a limbo of sorts when their lives or deaths involve tragic circumstances, misunderstandings and unsolved affairs? This book, Hill of Souls, is focused on this storyline. The story begins in the 16th century when Oweyn Skinner, a poacher, finds himself in a cave which is a perfect mantrap by Squire Fairweather. The squire kills Oweyn despite his friend Joseph trying to help him. Then the story shifts to the present time where a family in a campervan arrives in Combe Haven in Devon, a picturesque place by the sea for the Easter Holidays. While staying a Malil Cottage the children find an ancient wooden box in a stream and their great adventure unfolds. This story reminds me of the current escape room fad. Clues to solve the mystery. This is a thriller that I plan to read and the official review was excellent.
