Regrettable that Bev died. I am already tempted to read this book. I love a good thriller novel with enough actions and, this book seems to thick all boxes. Congrats on being BOTD.

"Devil's Ice" is an action thriller written by Jefferson Thomas, his very first book. The main character is Jack Trenton who has a job as a property manager and he takes the train to work each day. He meets Bev on the train and becomes interested in her. One day they find a box of diamonds under the train seat not knowing that they belong to Benny, a Chicago crime boss. Benny wants his diamonds and has sent out his goons to find them and kill anyone that gets in their way. Bev is killed in an accident that was set up by Benny and Jack realizes he is out of his league and does not know what to do with the diamonds. One needs to read the book to find out what happens to Jack, Benny and the diamonds. I am adding this book to my To-Read Shelf. Very good review.

I'm not sure carrying diamonds on the train is standard fare for the Mafia, but what do I know? I'm a sucker for thrillers, so I may hang around with Jack. But hey, why did Bev have to die?

Jack's life paints the picture of an average citizen. Most people had imagined a better life than what they were living eventually. However, jack contact with the men of the underworld is a game-changer here. I hope he survives with his life, family, and friends intact. Thanks for the review.

It would definitely be a rough ride for jack and bev. I have watched movies of this kind of storyline but I must say, I'm impressed with his book. Nice review, congrats on BOTD.

Sadness surrounds Bev's passing. Were the gems inadvertently discovered or were they actually stolen? I would say that I enjoyed the plot of this book and would be curious to find out how Jack resolves the case. Nicely written review. Congratulations on taking home the BOTD.

I don't often pick thrillers, but this one sounds fun to read. It's tough to be in a situation you haven't prepared to face, but it's more important to seek justice for the sake of the innocent. I hope the protagonist will find his way through it all with a peace of mind in the end. Congratulations on the BOTD.

This title and the cover of the book are interesting. It made me wonder bout the story immediately. "Devil's Ice" by Jefferson Thomas seems like an excellent story. It will be good to find out what really happens to Bev and why. It will also be good to know how or if Jack comes through this ordeal and how he might survive.

Congrats on BOTD!
An engrossing tale filled with murder, mystery, and excitement It sounds exciting to try to solve the mystery of the diamond box found on a train. More details regarding Bev's passing and Jack's predicament would be intriguing.

This seems like an interesting novel. I like how you b brought up the point of how important dialogue is to each scene. I'm sure the author will have some great takeaways from this review as well. The length of chapters is also a great thing to mention when writing. Reading flow is essential. Thank you for a nicely-written review!
