Charlie’s Diner

Very interesting read. Reading about a family that ended with just the husband is always traumatic. Losing a child and then a spouse after that made Charlie very vulnerable. It left Charlie in a state of mind that allowed him to remember how it felt to have a family and deep down he desired it, which can be understood. Sadly Charlies vulnerability allowed his feelings and emotions to get in the way, which resulted in him losing his life as well.

There is a saying that " money cannot buy happiness " and Charlie definitely illustrated that for all the money he had he was a very sad and lonely man inside. The story started out very promising painting the picture of Charlie as a nice, upstanding and caring boss and friend to his employees and waitress friend Flo. At one point it got me wondering if this is " love finds you in an usual place " kind of story between Charlie and Flo , only to be bombarded with the disappointment that even though Charlie possesses those qualities he is a very corrupt and manipulative man who uses his wealth to get what he wants at the expense of other person's happiness.

I am very interested and excited to see where the balance of this story goes as so far I am only allowed to read the very first four chapters freely. It seems very promising , has sexual explicit intentions and hint at further suspense. The editing is very well done so far, as I have not encountered any spelling or grammatical errors.

I do not know if I would like the book. Still, from the review, it seems something is out there in the story waiting to be discovered upon continuing. I have the impression from the review that the appreciation and enjoyment of the book would be the detective work of a determined character. I am also interested in how much fun and humorous the certain part described in the review could be. With the sample I have read, and the review presented there seems to be a tragedy and a playful coincidence or luck in the story. At any rate, it seems that the parts described in the review are just for the first part and are merely a start-up plot. I am not expecting anything now with these as a consequence and is blank. But at the same expecting something different.

From the story in this book, I learned that wealth without companionship leads to depression. "Charlie's Diner" by Dennis F Killeen has a very interesting message to pass.
