Sounds like an interesting story, though I'm not big on mystery/crime stuff... I like that there is some supernatural element to it though. Great review!

Based solely on the review, with its descriptions of plot and character, I perhaps would have purchased the book. The review makes the novel very appealing, being both engaging and full of important details. Certainly a well-written review.

Whilst the plot is certainly intriguing, I found it difficult to keep reading the sample of the novel. The author switches from current day to events that happened before Samantha Collins was born; an element that would work very well were it not tricky to follow.

From reading the review, I had the impression that this was an exciting novel with intriguing plot points. I found the latter to be true, but reading the novel sample was arduous due to the text not flowing smoothly. Perhaps this is because I am more used to reading descriptive books with a slower pace, thus allowing full immersion into the story. There seemed to be so much detail in A Life Before; not all of it was necessary.

While I agree that it seems intriguing, I have to say I found it extremely laborious on the details in the first few chapters. I would be interested in knowing how the story ends but I don't think I would have the patience to actually finish it.

A young lady has nightmares about someone being attacked. This sounds like a suppressed memory. After just reading a story that I hoped would have me glued to every page, but didn't, I could do with a good story. Thanks for the great review, I'll give this one a go.

Violent scenes don’t bother me, this sounds like a good book. I read the sample, but your review is what peaked my interest. Thanks for the review.

Messages from dreams? A wealthy condominium owner targeting a lawyer through his wife and paralegal worker? Controversial religious concept? Quite intriguing indeed. Thanks for your review, I enjoyed it.
