A Chinese artifact that goes missing!?Sounds like this character is thoroughly tested in this adventure packed book.

While I am normally not a fan of this genre, the colorful characters you describe may make all the difference!

What an entertaining review, Kelebogile Mbangi! By George, I think I will like this series. Mad Dog and the ancient Chinese man also sound absolutely lovable. I'm raring to unmask this mystery.

This sounds like a really fun mystery/adventure set in a great time period. It's great the author did such a nice job of setting the scene.

Wow :o thanks for sharing your thoughts on this read🤔This being the first book from a completed series, it comes as one interesting mystery novel that has happened in the mid-1930s. Having received a perfect 4/4 from OBC Review Team❤️this means #espionage #adventure at it’s finest! Congratulations on the #BOTD👏🏼

In the 20th century, one of the first book in the George Melville series was created, "The Mask Of Perpetuity" by Martin Jones.

Investigator Officer, George Melville was called to a attend a meeting and given the assignment to work alongside Secret Agent, Ali McAlister to solve the mystery of a stolen mask of perpetuity from a casino in Britain. The game plan was for George to link up with Agent, Ali at a casino in Macau and try to repurchase the mask at an auction sale event. But the pre-second war spies task was too much for George to handle.
Several clues must be unraveled for the return of this Chinese item of historical interest.

A well-written, action driven, adventurous, short-story is intriguing. An ordinary citizen finding himself in a heart-pounding mystery adds another layer of interest. Unfortunately, when I read the sample, it didn't grab my attention. :( Thanks for your informative review! :)

I'm thankful for the inclusion of the point of view (as that is one main thing I look at before reading the book) as well as describing what the main character is like, telling him as more of a real person and not just a part of a plot. Also, the page count is very helpful. While it is not a book I that would normally grasp my attention from the summary, you managed to hook me. :D

Great review. It sounds like a good mystery and Mad Dog must be a hoot! Amazing that it is only 86 pages - sounds like a short story. Thanks again for the review.

Reminds me of Indiana Jones. An adventure book is always a good read. A series even better. Congrats on botd.

Seems like the author did an amazing job in warping us back into the past. 1935 is sure an unknown time for me and I would like to know more about it. Your review made the book sound exciting and really fun! Can't wait to read this! Thanks for your review! :tiphat:

It's a mystery with some interesting characters, one as you described was, "Mad Dog for example. He presents himself as an unreliable alcoholic with pea-brained ideas." You mentioned it was a short book. I think it takes a lot of talent to squeeze a creative story into only 86 pages. Looking forward to reading it!

This book sounds like it will be entertaining and a joy to read. The mid to late thirties were busy times with war plans being made and gangsters roaming throughout America, a British agent traveling the world with Mad Dog seems like my cup of tea. Great review. Interesting that the book is only 86 pages
