Honestly, I do have soft spot for any book that has religious beliefs included. I therefore will not overlook this book but instead I will love to read it. Well-written review.
I would love to read it as well

Regardless of your personal religious beliefs or lack of, I appreciated how you shed a neutral perspective on those who practice religion (in my case Christianity) and, simultaneously, acknowledged that it is the individual's responsibility on whether they will use their beliefs to tear-down or to build-up others (hopefully the second one in my opinion :) ). I am also curious to find out what time period the story takes place in and how that relates to the racism theme. My response to the racism aspect and how it connects to politics in America will depend on the context in which it was used in. This review was thought-provoking and enjoyed it very much! Congrats to the author for BOTD!

I am always interested in learning from books, so I might have to try this one out. It will be interesting to see how the author handles the topic of racism and what happens with the "new race." Thanks for the review and congrats on being BOTD!

From a sampling, this seems like an interesting crime/thriller novel focusing on race relations. It looks like it worth a second look. Well done.

I did not know that racial wars stemmed from religion too. Your review is detailed and enlightening. Pity about the character of Kimberly. Glad to see you suggesting that if the weeklong visit was expanded a bit more, it would have sufficed the lacking element. I am not a fan of such genre but with your review, this sounds informative and enjoyable at the very least. Thanks!

A very nice and detailed review, also helpful. This looks like an interesting and stimulating read, I am, up for the challenge. I would really love to see how the main subject matter (racism) is tackled by the author. Kudos in advance to the author and congrats on #BOTD.

It's interesting that you called this "a new dimension in understanding racism." - it's always nice when authors can give a new outlook on a topic. I can only imagine the bullying and identity crisis that Kimberly faces due to being biracial, and the character of Kublai Khan sounds like an interesting as he challenges the status quo. Glad to hear that you thought the religion and scene development were done well. You actually wanted to be one of the characters? That's pretty awesome! Too bad that you found Kimberly's characterization could have improved. However, it's great that you enjoyed this book. Thank you for sharing!

Man is the architect of its own problem. Over the years, humans have conveniently used race and religion to perpetuate some serious atrocities. Great review!

Mixed Blessings is a book revolving around race i.e a mixed race girl and a black man. The book is not for me but I can definitely recommend it. Congrats on BOTD!

That was a lovely review. The book sounds very interesting especially by using a combination of racial identity and religion.

Congratulations on BOTD. It does sound for the most part a well written story. Taking a different look of racism from the eyes of different people. I'm sure this is a real thought provoking type book, but I dont think this one is for me.

The review sums up the book gorgeously. The topic of races is something that has been around for a long time, and most people simply reuse the same story over and over and over. It gets tiring, truly. However, this book is different. It provides the readers with a brand new perspective. This is something I will definitely read.

Muse's rhytm suggest patience from the beggining, it is slow, but unable to force you yawn. The story is perfect for any reader who loves moments in which dialogues predominates over action, specially because they are not only amuzing, but capable to reveal each character mindset, excepting Juanita's, Kim's sibling, who surprisingly, for someone of her age, used archaic salutations to an equal and lacked the normal mexican persistance of a teen willing to party no matter the consequences. The described ambience is not hard to evoque, one can almost see a nitid picture of it while reading. I really enjoyed the free sample, so i would love to read the whole book more because of the previous points than the racial subject.
