The story highlights the cooperation between organizations such as Homeland Security, the CIA and the FBI to unravel a far-reaching terrorist threat.

I would definitely agree with you that the characters, events, and environment are well described in enough detail to easily imagine them. I also agree with you that there was not enough conflict. To me, it felt like Lara and Uri's conflict with those they fought against and their actions were simply narrated from a distance, much like the distance and privacy they were only allowed when relaying events to Lara's family. I would have also liked to see more detail of the action and conflict. I also really love the romance between Lara and Uri, it's mild enough it doesn't dominate scenes making the book a romance, no it stays just enough that you understand Lara and Uri's relationship is a true romance not just a work relationship, it's quite cute, I agree!

Wow! What a great plot description you have there. I will also like a story that shows good research and vividly description actions and event that they appear as nonfiction. I was piqued to want to read the crime in the book and get entertained by the dramas that ensued. Thanks for this great review and congratulations on BOTD.

Jack Winnick delivers lots of nonstop, action-packed thrills in this delectable espionage novel. Even though this is not the first book in the series it reads as a standalone. Congrats to the author for having BOTD.

Thank you for this engaging review I like how you captured the plot very briefly. A couple at vacation being drawn in to a terrorist case is quite intriguing. Their capture must be quite suspenseful seeing that their lives was at risk. The cooperative between the security operatives, that's one of your likes, is quite not exactly what I've seen in movies, especially the CIA and FBI try to shade the other from criminal cases, I guess this book is just different on that perspective. I also like how you listed the things you liked and what you wished was no so to. This book deserves quite a keen read.

“The Date Farm” by Jack Winnick is his 4th incredible book in the Lara and Uri 5-book series. This fictional, but based on historical data, terrorist attack occurs in a Beverly Hills shopping mall where 48 innocent teens and young adults are killed and hundreds more were injured by a group of terrorists, dressed in black, that tossed gas grenades into the crowd blinding and gaging the people having a fun time listening to music after the mall was closed, and then opened fire on the crowd with automatic weapons. When their ammunition was exhausted, they pulled out pistols and shot themselves in the head, instantly killing them. They had been led to believe that their attacks would guarantee them an automatic entry into paradise. Meanwhile, the security of the Dept. of Defense and DHS was breached and the Federal Reserve and Chase Manhattan were also attacked. One needs to read the book to learn the reasons for the attacks and who is the mastermind behind the killing of innocent people. Each of Winnick’s books can be read in any order but I believe readers will enjoy the series more if they read the books in order. I highly recommend all five of Winnick’s well-written action thrillers. Hold onto your seat, this book will be hard to put down. Very good review.

This book shines in its realistic portrayal of collaboration among major investigative agencies like Homeland Security, the CIA, and the FBI. The author's detailed research adds authenticity to the story, giving readers a genuine sense of the hard work and tension involved in tracking down dangerous criminals. Nice review.

This being the 4th book in the series, I expect the main characters are familiar with their enemies by now, but I agree, some time taken to escape when kidnapped would be nice for realism. The descriptions of locations sound lovely!

Great review! One thing I will say right off, while at first glance your choice to mention where the villains attack may seem harmless, because I've read the book as well I would consider that bit quite a spoiler. What the villains are after is not mentioned until farther into the book and I feel like a big part of Lara and Uri's struggle against the villain was finding out who they were and what they were after. While description wise, there was not much of a struggle especially when Lara and Uri were captured (though I do agree that was disappointing), in my opinion a large chunk of the book demonstrated how difficult it was to find out who the villain was and what they were after.
I definitely agree that Winnick did an amazing job writing this to also stand on its own and I am excited to see if the other books in the series reflect this.
Great insights!

Lara and Uri’s action packed adventure is taut with suspense, twists , and turns. The prose is fluid and well written, with the author’s usual explosive start to the book. A good and entertaining read.

This review highlights "The Date Farm" as a gripping political thriller with meticulous research, vivid descriptions, and strong teamwork among agencies. While the protagonists' ease in overcoming challenges felt slightly unrealistic, the book excels in suspense, character dynamics, and immersive settings. A 5-star read for fans of thrillers with a touch of romance and action.

Your insightful review of "The Date Farm" by Jack Winnick indicates the author did their research to produces an exciting political thriller. Although it is the fourth book in a series that includes Lara and Uri it does well as a stand-alone book. The excellent attention to detail makes for suspenseful read.

Jack Winnick is an amazing writer and I greatly enjoyed reading one of his books. It is amazing to read that Lara Edmond and Uri Levin are back in action. The negative aspect you have mentioned would indeed stand out, as some effort would be needed to make the story more realistic and believable.
Many thanks for the informative review, @Kaitlyn Canedy.
