Ali McAlistair seems like those kind of characters who live a dangerous life and don't care about the safety of others impacted by their actions. I'll enjoy knowing how he and the person who's helping return the Chinese artifact cope in the face of the adversary. Thanks for the nice review.

I'm not usually that into adventure books, but this one sounds entertaining and exciting. I especially like the premise; it reminds me a little of The Librarian, minus the magic. Considering it's so short, this might just be the break I need from my hectic life. Thank you for the helpful review.

An interesting thriller set in the 30's sounds like what I'll really enjoy reading coupled with the fact that it's a short read. Definitely going to check this one out. Thanks for review.

With the book being set in 1935, I don't think I'll read it. I'm not a great fan of historical fiction. I will pass it on though to avid readers of history.

I think that this review is quite helpful for thus who really like adventure books, and action to, and even for those people who really like to know the end early because the review said that the book have only 89 page so bring it on, I will read it in one day. Well thank you this helps me a lot

Kelebogile Mbangi does justice to The Mask of Perpetuity by Martin Jones in his detailed review of the novel. His article presents a better summary of the book without spoilers, than the one on Amazon. It has got me excited about the book because the reader is transported to 1935, with interesting, exotic locales in Hong Kong, Macau and Egypt. I expect a thriller with moments of humor and levity. I'm looking forward to that Chinese man with the vicious kick. Of course, Nazi villainy gives the novel the profound danger our hero must face and the historical grounding for this adventure.

After reading the sample I was left unsure if it's a book I would want to continue reading but after reading this fabulous review, it's won me over and be adding it to my reading list. I'm glad the reviewer mentions how great a job the author does of incorporating the old setting without distracting the reader. I was a bit worried the time period would be make the book boring. Luckily the two main characters sound interesting as does the point of view from a civilian. Thanks for the great review!
