Book 📚 of the day BOTD is C T M H thriller complex plotting and characterization tied to hospital bed wrapped in bandages Mathis woke up from a coma suffering from amnesia he discover he is multilated n' had full face transplant,he spent months depressed in solitary plotting revenge to 5 people that cause him the loss of his identity. questioned by police he has to choose three options
1_ maintain his adapted identity
2- reveal his real identity
3_ flee Europe

The risk of fleeing would mean jail and he would miss fortune. Matthias was a well drwan character development in this storyline it made the book so intruinged it was well written and reviewed I will recommend it 💯✅

I love the idea that the main character has temporary amnesia and wants to make things right when he regains his memory. The challenges with repaying a “cosmic debt” are always intriguing. I am sure this will be a very suspenseful and interesting read. Thank you for the review.

Truly, the author is skilled when it comes to creative imagination. I can't imagine how it must feel to lose one's memory and regaining it to find out you've lost your face abd fingers.

"Revenge" is a potent motivator and it usually serves as a fascinating plot twist. Although I am not a big fan of books with sequels, this novel sounds interesting. I am tempted to read about how Matthias Callaghan lost his memories and ten fingers!

I'm curious to read Callaghan, vol. 1 & 2 by Kim Ekemar because I have never read a book with such a unique storyline as this. I can't imagine waking up to a different face of myself. I don't know how I would react. I will read this book and follow up on the amazing story of Mathias who woke up comatose and what became of him. Congratulations on the BOTD.

A discovery and a personality loss featuring crime thriller adventure novel "Callaghan, vol. 1 & 2" by Kim Ekemar, which follows Matthias Callaghan, who wakes up in a hospital all stitched up. His enemies did this to him as a revenge. The book appears quite entertaining to me.
life is only knowing the unknown, we can do this by reading books easily- Online book club is a great place for this. This is what I believe.

Tragically, Matthias lost his face and ten of his fingers. He sought to get revenge on his adversaries while still trying to obtain employment and pay off his obligations. This is a wonderful tale with many valuable life lessons.

Kim Ekemar is indeed a great storyteller. I say this because of how masterfully he ties up the first story and how tactfully he revives it in the second book. I will have to say that while The Lost Identity Casualties (the first volume) is easily a stand-alone novel, the second one (Where the Bones of a Buried Rat Lie) is not.

Matthias Callaghan wakes up in a hospital in pain and all stitched up. He does not remember anything until his wife (Juliana Cross) comes to visit him. His memory then comes back to him slowly until he remembers how he came to lose his face and ten fingers. The first novel details his plan to make his assailants suffer and regain his fingers and get a new face. The second novel then raises the question, 'What happens in the happily ever after?' His enemies (including Mr. Flint and Charles Rathbone) realize the extent of the damage caused by Matthias and decide to seek revenge. Matthias soon realizes that he is not yet out of the woods and has to get his life together by getting a new career and settling all his 'past life' debts. However, it is never that easy neither is it ever that straightforward.

As I mentioned earlier, Kim Ekemar is a great author and narrator. The narration he employed was compelling, powerful, and suspenseful. He switched between the first-person narration and the third-person narration to give us the feeling of knowing exactly what Matthias thought and how his thoughts influenced his actions. The writing was wonderful, a feat that I highly credit and praise the author for.

The plot was also very well crafted and developed. Despite starting the first story from the middle, all events were described chronologically. The character development was also done well. It was easy to match all the characters to their personalities and even imagine their would-be physical descriptions. Such was the power of the vivid and accurate description employed in the story.

The only thing that I disliked was the fact that the author started a few stories and failed to follow them to completion. For example, what happened to Thumps and Allan in the second novel? However, I have the remaining books in the series to try and follow these stories. These books were very professionally edited as I found no grammatical errors. Thus, I have to award the book (Callaghan, vol. 1 & 2) the highest rating of 4 out of 4 stars. It should be enjoyed by lovers of crime thrillers, adventure novels, and books featuring personality loss and discovery.

A fascinating concept and really quite unique, looking forward to reading more.

Find me on my knees with my soul laid bare

Losing his face and his fingers is a great sadness, a total desolation. If we hold on to that, it's still sad.. Very good review

Thanks, Melchi, for the great review. I've only read the first chapter of Book 1 and I'm hooked already, you've just helped seal the deal. 7 in the series in total now, I'm looking forward to reading all of them.

A story about a person literally losing their face is not something you see everyday. I'm curious to see how it turns out.

Though I am not a fan of series books, the review of this book established the prowess of the author in storytelling and the captivating nature of this particular story. The abrupt ending of the book is part of my dislike for series books. Congrats to the author on #BOTD!

I am very interested to discover how the main character lost his fingers and woke up with stitches all over his face. However, the reviewer says that Kim Ekemar writes with vivid and accurate descriptions, and I am unsure if my stomach could take reading all the details of what appears to be a gruesome assault. Thank you for the great review!
