Sounds like a thought-provoking and unflinching look at an unpleasant subject matter, interesting stuff.

Rarely, if ever, are sex workers' stories presented in such depth without any form of degradation. I'm glad the author showed some of the struggles sex workers have to face while also adding mystery and suspense to this unique read. Great job!

What a thorough review. I think I would struggle with the jumping around, but more so with knowing these events really happened. I am interestes in how the story ends and if the killer is found.

Lovely review. The story seems really captivating, although I'll have to pass on it because of the explicit sexual scenes.

This book seems to be filled with heavy and mature content. However, like you said, the explicit sex scenes seems like they would sbe important in order to give the readers a genuine experience on Lilian's short life. I'm glad that this book addresses the issue of sex tourism. It's definitely something that I think more people should learn about. I also like that the author did her research on all aspect of this novel. Thank you for such an insightful review.

The book does sound really raw, but surprisingly good based on such a rough topic. I'm always intrigued by stories about twins, especially when one plays the role of the other. This sounds emotional, but worthwhile.

I am one of those who could not continue reading this book due to the explicit sexual scenes, so thank you reviewer for the good review of this book.

This sounds incredibly tragic and yet engaging. I'm particularly interested in finding out how Vivian is able to uncover the murderer and what she will do once that happens. I'm a big fan of true crime, and even if this is fictionalized (but based on something true), it sounds incredibly plausible. I hope there is a resolution to the pain caused. Just knowing that the police did what they often do - which is to dismiss a case based on a perception that a drug addict and/or sex worker would not be worthy - makes me sad and angry. Everyone deserves to be treated with dignity.

Anyway, thanks for the review. I look forward to reading this.

Wow, this is a great book to read and get a little hope from... Never felt so much thrill in reading a book before.. Every word that I read, was like a movie in my head... For a minute I realised I got lost in reading the book, it was like I was lost in time, the book really transported me inside it... It was like I was there in the hotel room and one minute I was in the ensuite.... This really gives you the mini time travel experience, its pity I can't get the full book

I have just read the sample of the book, and to say the sex is explicit will be an understatement, let alone learning about the insight of the strip club. Based on your review, the events seemed to be painful, and to think that it's based on a true story is very heartbreaking. I would like to read the book to find out how Lilian died. All in all, your review is intriguing.

Thank you for a great review! It does sound like an intense story. I especially like your comments about the author’s extensive research into the subject matter of the book. I would like to read more about those sisters and their strong, emotional bond.

I do think the story sounds interesting, and I like that it has that bit of mystery. It also seems to show some of the steps people take in getting to the point of prostitution. I don't know if it is a story that I would take pleasure in reading though. Thank you for the review.

Although an intriguing murder mystery plot. explicit sexual content and graphic language are not suitable for me; therefore, I chose to pass, but thank you, much online book club for the winning Kindle copy instead! Thank you for the review and best wishes to the author on the #BOTD 👄

An interesting review, thankfully though not as explicit as the book title. There are so many worlds out there with different people going through different things. This book obviously tries to take a look at another side of life that is usually glossed over. Apparently you can't tackle this without going explicit. Not sure of reading this but hope it gives those who do a proper and unvarnished view. Congrats to Olivia Wild on #BOTD.
