From the mere first 4 chapters that I've read of this book, the whole premise to me is really intriguing. Admittedly, it's my first time reading something with a plot like this: the cutthroat world of scientists on a race to find the cure with a lot of rivalries and deceit happening as the story goes. So it really peaked my interest. As far as what I've read, your review is on point. I'm a bit concerned with the alternating viewpoints though, especially with the antagonist (who, so far as what I have read, should be Eric), since it could make the whole book predictable. The characters seem pretty one-dimensional at first but that's probably because I have not read the whole thing yet. Hopefully, there's some character development further in the story. Overall, I would love to continue reading the whole book.

The name of the book sounds good and can take attention of book readers. I just loved it when the author makes the reader so involved in the fact by his skills. congrats to sir Geoffrey M Cooper for this worth reading book.

The character/s must be really hateful for the reviewer to feel mad so many times while reading the book. It means the author was effective in the narration of the novel. I love mystery books, so I am looking forward to immerse myself in this novel. Happy reading to us.

The book is not necessarily what I would call action-packed. Yet, there was a constant pull towards the finish. The author does a great job at getting you invested in the story. The writing was superb, and I felt an urge to find out how everything would work out in the end.

There is an element of mystery in the story along with some psychological aspects. It was interesting to see how fame and fortune can become so corrupting. The mystery did not come in trying to figure out "whodunit" but rather in seeing if and when justice would be served.

You certainly don't know what you are going to get with this category. There are so many sub-categories of Mystery, lumping Horror and Thriller in with it makes it pretty broad.

I thought the sample I read was well written and had a little suspense in it, but you didn't mention what the mystery was. Will it be a spoiler for you to say?

Thanks for the review.

This seems like a great read about finding the cure for Alzheimers and competing against someone else who's on the same mission. I like how based on this review it seems like you become invested in the characters. That's always a good sign. I'll give it a chance.

I must admit that suspense is not my favourite genre but this review has convinced me that this is a book that I must read.

When I was reading kandscreeley's review of The Prize, I was remimded of a similar plot used by then thriller novelist Tom Clancy wherein the moment you realize what the bad guy's motives are then you begin to react. And that's a pretty good way to make the reader's wide awake 'till the late hours of the night, not letting go of the good read until finishing at least the chapter at hand. I like the idea of two people racing for the same goal yet using different methods in the attainent of such goal. And he was right about the whole thing as either being a mystery or just inherently psychological.

I love characters you can hate because it makes them seem more real! Sounds like a great book.

I must read this book for the future as I definitely want to know who will find the cure for this disease, and who will get the prize. Thank you for a splendid review.

This is a good review. I am also into the Mystery/Thrill/Horror genre I guess along with many others. But judging from the review this would be a good book to read all the way through. I was also drawn into the story just from the sample of the book that I have read.

It's interesting to know that some characters in the book got into your nerve. Thank you for your well summarised review, am now motivated to peer into the book, though thrilling, horror and mysterious genres frighten me.

The prize.
Author Geoffrey M Cooper.
Judging from the review its a good novel to read and even apply it in our daily life ,when it comes to winning ....I also notice from the review that the characters of this novel are very realistic and it even made me have passion towards reading the book I can't find anything to complain about in this novel but to congratulate the author who had to find time and wrote the book in such a admirable manner.
