I absolutely love law enforcement duos in crime thrillers. When the character writing and dialogue goes well with the pacing of the story...masterpiece. Makes me smile. This sounds like the author did those well. Great review.

Devil Among Us by Jack Winnick is an interesting series. I like that it is action-filled, the main characters Lara and Uri make a strong team. Their investigative skill is productive and they always find a way to make sense of the situation. In this series, there has been an attack, a synagogue bombing in New York. I like the author's attempt at making this story real and captivating, as a reader I feel like I am part of the action.
It takes a vast knowledge of a subject to share it in such light. Congratulations to Jack Winnick for winning today's BOTD it is well deserved. Thanks for the review it captures the essence of the book.

Lara and Uri are also not only heroic action figures. They both are crafty with a past history. Lara has to deal with what happened in the past, when Uri walks a thin line with his cover in the Israeli intelligence service. They interweave personal challenges that make viewing it more relatable and eye-opening.

By delving into the very heart of the Middle East crisis, this story illustrates its intricacies. Through Winnick’s writing, there is a sufficient amount of history provided to make the story clear without isolating the audience with excessive exposition.

Certainly an intelligent thoughtful novel indeed. But it feels like the review has revealed too much of the plot and it would deeply affect the enjoyment of the story.
