**Book Review: Devil Among Us by Jack Winnick**

**Devil Among Us** by Jack Winnick is a gripping thriller that keeps readers on the edge of their seats. As the second installment in the Lara and Uri series, this novel can also be enjoyed as a stand-alone story. The book begins with a shocking bombing at a New York City synagogue, resulting in numerous casualties. FBI Special Agent Lara Edmond and Mossad agent Uri Levin join forces once again to uncover the truth behind this devastating attack.

The investigation initially points to members of the synagogue, but as Lara and Uri follow leads to Texas, they suspect a larger, more sinister plot involving Islamic terrorists. This twisty narrative raises crucial questions: Is there a plan to prevent the United States from aiding Israel? Why does Iran have a missile aimed at Tel Aviv? How does this connect to the New York bombing? The duo must piece together these puzzles to stop the masterminds behind these events.

Winnick masterfully shifts perspectives throughout the story, adding depth and dimension to both major and minor characters. From Yehudi Bar-lev, the teenager caught in the explosion, to Hadley Parkinson, the tough police chief, each character is well-developed and realistic. The author's deep knowledge of Middle Eastern geopolitics and historical references to World War II enriches the narrative, making it both educational and entertaining.

The fast-paced plot is packed with action, including bombings, fights, and kidnappings, making it hard to put down. Lara and Uri’s chemistry and silent communication add a unique charm to the story, providing a bright spot amidst the tension and danger.

Professionally edited with minimal errors, **Devil Among Us** is suitable for mature readers who enjoy intense, suspenseful thrillers. It's a compelling read that skillfully blends action, intrigue, and well-crafted characters, earning a well-deserved 4 out of 4 stars.

**Rating: 4/4 stars**

Did Lara Edmond and Uri Levin succeed in uncovering the secret behind the bombing of the New York City synagogue? How were they able to find the devil among the suspects being investigated?
Find out in this fast-paced and intriguing thriller by Jack Winnick in the 'Devil Among Us.' I'm so challenged by the author's knowledge of the Middle East and the geopolitical relationships between the United States and Middle Eastern countries. It goes to show the great work the author did in putting together this brilliant storyline.

I wonder how the family of the deceased must have felt and the pain of those that got injured. Can’t wait to read and learn of how Lara and Uri handles this.

The book was captivating right from the start; I have a thing with books that begin with action. I love crime thrillers, but this one stood out with the wide range of events fitted into it. A book I'd recommend to anyone.

Great review! You've convinced me to read this book. It has everything I enjoy in a book: mystery, thriller, fast-paced, and more. It's helpful to know that this is one in a series featuring Lara and Uri's teamwork and that this novel can stand alone. I love books that continue the same characters into each new installment. Thank you for sharing.
