Jack Winnick’s ‘Devil Among Us’ is a thrilling romantic novel filled with layers of mysteriousness and complexity including the wayward characters and gripping plots and settings. The focus of the book is a cross-national conspiracy related to terrorism and the special forces, which confirms Winnick’s credible claim of attempting complicated plots with terrorism as the background. Most of the readers, especially the youngsters, love the emphasis on the fast flow of events, and at the same time, an extensive focus on the political issues and problems of different countries. The narrative has a well-knit plot and incorporates interesting plots where the writer builds tension. If thrillers based on strong international themes with developed characters are to your taste, ‘Devil Among Us’ may prove a delightful surprise.

Jack Winnick's series about Lara and Uri are my favourite.
So much so, that I'm re-reading the series and I'm on the first instalment-
"East Winds" right now! The flair that the author brings along with the close connect to the current geopolitical affairs fascinates me. Thanks for the review!! I agree with all the points you mentioned in the review.

Devil Among Us by Jack Winnick is a gripping and intense thriller that plunges readers into the heart of a complex terrorist plot. As the second installment in the Lara and Uri series, the book stands on its own, offering a standalone experience that doesn't require prior knowledge of the first novel. The story kicks off with a devastating bombing at a New York City synagogue, instantly drawing readers into a world of suspense and high-stakes investigation.

In the 70’s and 80’s the trend was to write about Russian espionage. It is interesting how, as you say, the perspectives shifted but also the narrative of today! Can’t wait to read it! Thank you for an excellent review!

Terror has a negative impact on society and responsible people should be dealt with. I love that the book shows how the authority does all their best to save us and that bad society elements will have to hit a hard rock someday. Congratulations.
