This sounds like quite a collection of short stories. Using food terms as a creative flair is unique, although the gay content does not appeal to me. Thanks for a great review.

I really enjoyed reading this review. Although I am not a big fan of alcohol in general, champagne included, this books seems to be incredibly entertaining. Thank you for your review!

A collection of short stories with spectacular characters and natural, realistic dialogue. I also like that these short stories are well edited and filled with mystery. I am glad you enjoyed this collection, but I'm not sure it's for me. However, I got my copy! Thank you for the unique, charming review! :tiphat:

I loved your wonderfully creative review! I'm not much of a wine/champagne connoisseur so I don't think this book will have quite a profound impact on me. It's not particularly appealing to my own reading tastes, but I think this book will be enjoyable for many readers.

While I love a glass of champagne, I’m not a big fan of short stories, so I will be passing this one by. The opening pages of a German soldier killing a man for his homemade brews just isn’t my cup of tea. It sounds like you enjoyed this one thoroughly and that the author did a good job with the writing. This one just isn’t for me.

This book is very difficult to read and understand as the review indicates. I would not want to read it after reading the review.
The worst characteristic is that the vocabulary is too sophisticated, so much so, that the complexity of this vocabulary is laughable!
I would not like this book.

I liked how you compared and described the ten different tales like wine with "completely different texture, colour, and flavour" and that the tales have unique scenarios. It is interesting that the author is a Master Sommelier and centers his tales around Champagne. I like your warning given to those who may read the book (laughter, contrasting emotions, or a state of reflection) much like the effects of drinking Champagne. Nice review!

I love compilations, and this book filled with ten champagnesque stories certainly seems like it would fit the bill. Thanks for the review!

"The Champagne Tales" by Michael Amon sounds like a perfectly orchestrated story written to draw in different categories of people/readers. I love food and non-alcoholic wines, yet, the story behind this champagne appeals very much to me and it is leaving an after-taste in my mouth just like the author described in his story. Delicious!
