This sounds like a suspenseful plot with well-developed characters. It will be challenging for Diamond to pin a burglary on Malone, who he has become close with. I like how there is so much learn about pearls. Thanks for the wonderful review.

Looks like an engaging crime thriller. The review indicates it's an interesting fictional tale going a smooth plot in real-estate fraud. Surprising to read Sydney Malone manages to hold a set of pearl necklaces and a matching ring worth $100,000. This looks like a normal plot until Drew Diamond made an entry. The coincidental turn after their friendship is worth knowing. Nice review, Nerea. Thanks.

"Diamond and Pearls" by Julien Ayotte - Mystery involving burglary. Who is the burglar and who ends up with the $100,000 pearls? I enjoy Julien Ayotte's writing, he makes you want to turn the page and see what's coming next. His characters are well-drawn and interesting. A good read for a cozy weekend in winter. Thanks for the thoughtful review.

A story that revolves around a widow, a real estate agent who steals valuable items, money, and expensive jewelry from various apartments. Eventually, she is investigated as a suspect by a police friend. I find it interesting that business ideas are presented in this story.

I do love crime and mystery stories! But you've mentioned that the author adds and drops characters and has written the story in both first- and third-person perspectives, which is making me hesitate to read this. However, I'm also curious about the additional information about pearls and how the author would make this story work.
