The cover is very interesting and expresses the book's contents accurately. Chief of security definitely has to deal with a lot of problems, especially he has to be very careful when he finds himself hooked onto a woman.

'The Hotel Detective and his Lover' invites readers to think about how the hotel's survival is a bit like our own journey in this complicated thing called life. The review makes me really curious, and now I'm super excited to jump into this thrilling story. It sounds like a fascinating adventure, and I can't wait to see what happens in the hotel. Congrats on #BOTD!

Life is a play where we are the actors and the audience, We laugh and cry, love and hate, create and destroy,
We seek to know ourselves and others, to belong and to be free, We accept what we can and change what we must.

Your detailed review painted a vivid picture of the intricate plot and diverse characters, making it clear that the novel is a thrilling ride full of unexpected twists. I appreciate your insightful commentary on the author's skill in capturing the atmosphere of the Adelphi Hotel, turning it into a majestic figure that adds depth to the narrative. Your mention of the characters' realistic portrayals and the author's dry sense of humor has intrigued me even more. Awesome review! It’s hard to turn down a good mystery. This seems to have a lot of the “tried & true” tropes/feel of one in a very good way. I’m sure many fans of old-school (and maybe new-school, as well) detective stories would absolutely be into this book!

The review of "The Hotel Detective and his Lover" by Derek Picot commends its riveting thriller plot, filled with twists and suspense, set in the Adelphi Hotel in London. The author's experience in luxury hotels reflects in vivid descriptions, portraying the hotel as a majestic figure facing a takeover bid. Characters are realistically portrayed, and the dry sense of humor adds to the reading experience. Recommended for thriller and murder mystery fans.

A meticulous review. A thriller in the cozy ambience of a hotel is simply irresistible. Every part of the story is a slick belnd of affairs, killings, drug abuse and so on. Conscience is not something which can be expected from these characters. Congrats on BOTD.

From the sample I've read I can say that the story revolves around Marker, a former police officer turned private detective, who unexpectedly reunites with a woman from his past after thwarting a bag-snatching incident. As they catch up, she offers him a job as Chief Security Officer at The Adelphi, a grand hotel near Charing Cross station, leading to a new chapter in his life.

Actually, I love this kind of thriller where you can find supposed to be strong man (the detective) is shy to reveal his passion toword the nice lady he ravishing Sandrine Parte.
I love also the whole atmosphere of action and suspense that let you pay attention for every move and every word.
I appreciate the choice of the hotel "the Adelphi Hotel" because I adore the historical places and I find it contain secrets at every step.
I think that he is very clever auther to choose and give full description of persons that led you truly imagine the personality of everyone.
I hope it can be turned to a movie, and I'll be in the front desk watching it.
